Uncertain Future
Due to the recent events involving the lawsuit of Activision Blizzard, Voodoo Expedition League will be going on an indefinite hiatus. The guild will not be disbanded and will remain a home for any of our current members who want to stay; however, we will not be helping with any public events on WrA, and our guild RP will be postponed for the time being. All recruiting will be closed.

New Logo
Hey guys, we’re changing things up a bit here in the VEL!
While our old purple guild crest was unique and easy to identify, it didn’t exactly match a lot of transmogs. And so, with a new year approaching, it was time for a new look.

[WrA H-RP Event] Tournament of the Wyrm
Tournament of the Wyrm is a multi-day Horde faction wide event aimed at bringing the community together for friendly competition and rewards.
Location: The Argent Tournament grounds in Icecrown When: January 15, 2021 (4:00 PM server) to January 18th (8:00 PM server) Discord: https://discord.gg/PsvvgCbBDe
There are many events to keep attendees occupied, including PvP duels and D20 duels. However, the spotlight event is the tournament joust, where your skills will truly be put to the test!
To the victors go the spoils, and there are riches galore up for grabs, including lump sums of gold, rare pets and mounts, and art commissions worth a whopping 200 USD!
The tournament is also an excellent way for guilds, both new and old, to get their names out there. Guild booth sign ups are available for those who want to share their wares and skills with the community and perhaps even recruit some new members!
Itching to get involved in the festivities? Just contact one of the senior administrators or moderators and you will get squared away.

Ironing out the Irontide
The League travels to an island off the coast of Kul Tiras to salvage some lost Zandalari treasure, when they run into some Irontide pirates!
Leylines for Life
The VEL had a few members stop by Leylines for Life in show of support for their LGBT friends! It was a wonderful event for a good cause that VEL was happy to be able to attend. Our own Heroya even made a speech about what the LGBT community means to them!

The League once again attended the Stranglethorn Bonfire Bash this year! Always a blast!
Saying Goodbye

A few months back the League had to say goodbye to one of its own. The druid Ja’mez, devoted to defending Azeroth from corruption, sacrificed his life in the fight against N’zoth in the dreaming city of Nya’lotha. He is survived by his mate Leah, and his chosen family the Voodoo Expedition League. He will be sorely missed.
(However, little does the League know, the balance between life and death has been turned upon its head, and the veil between Azeroth and the afterlife wanes. It may not be the last they’ve seen of their fallen comrade just yet!)
OOC note - This was the first guild event that the League has held exclusively in Discord, which provided us a unique opportunity to express ourselves in longer posts, and gave those with busier schedules the chance to participate where normally they might miss out on an in-game event. It’s an avenue that we’ll continue to explore, hopefully with happier themes in the future.

An Encounter with Jani
“Greetings, richmon. I know what ya be seekin’. Why ya always goin’ to find treasures for de richmons dat already got so much?”
Deep within the jungles of Zuldazar, the League encounters Jani, the God of Garbage, who asks them to play a prank on one of Paku’s children in exchange for the relic they’ve been looking for. After being transformed into little saurids, the League weaves its way through dangers such as carnivorous plants, giant spider webs, and rampaging devilsaurs to reach the pterrordax’s nest!
Do Catfish Make Good Husbands, the Sequel
Well, we were asked by @ramazo to keep them updated on how this story developed, and so, without further adieu, we present you the conclusion of “Do Catfish Make Good Husbands?”
In case you missed part one, it starts with this post, where we determined that either Hero or Azka should sacrifice their husbands to determine if a fish would make a good replacement and be helpful around the house by taking out the trash. The conversation then continues as such:
We determine that Azka’s husband will be tribute, as Mafford takes out the trash, and also because Mafford can see when we’re plotting against him...
Fast forward to the next morning, where we discover if our plan worked. (Spoiler: It did not.)
However, we did determine that the threat of death by catfish is enough to get a man to take out the garbage, and that Jin’yu are probably wonderful husbands. As a consolation prize, here is a poorly photoshopped picture of what Azka’s catfish husband might have looked like:
This is the kind of love you only find once, people.
A little note...
After posting “Operation Longboi” yesterday, we feel it’s important to say that since Azka was diagnosed with the corona virus, they have since made a full, albeit slow, recovery. Azka says that covid is “no joke,” so we’d like to remind you all to be safe and take the proper precautions to stay healthy!
Operation Longboi
Azka has been busting their butt to get the Might Caravan Brutosaur ever since Blizzard announced it would be going away in the prepatch. Farming gold was going great and it looked like Azka would have their mount with plenty of time to spare, but when Azka was just a million gold shy of their goal, they were hospitalized with Covid-19.
There was no way the League was going to let Azka get so close and not reach their goal, so Leah took up collections from everyone who could spare some gold, and with time running short and extinction on the horizon, Azka made their 5 million gold.
