Number of spring manufacturers is increasing day by day but most of the manufacturers are just suppliers. What they do is they keep stock of quick supplies and look for customers that need regular size springs in short time. They offer products at discounted rates and make quick money. But they deal only on regular springs.
What is a regular spring?
It is a product that is used in machines and tools like stapler. Job of a spring is to store energy and make machines mobile. Take a stapler and press it to use. When you press the upper arm of the stapler, you actually press a spring that withstands pressure and converts the pressure into energy. When you leave the first arm of the spring, you actually release the spring that makes the first arm of the stapler move.
Spring manufacturers are engineering companies or it would be more appropriate to say that they have to be engineers. A manufacturer needs to have an engineering team that can produce great designs of unique springs. It is only an engineer that is able to understand needs and create designs that meet needs. It seems an easy job but in reality, a spring has to pass many quality tests before it enters into production stage.
Cost of a spring is determined on the factors like metal used, quantity of metal and functionality of the spring. Also number of pieces determines the price. Bulk order can be affordable but short supply is always expensive.
