he says he doesn't, but somewhere in his heart, he does care.
Oshikawa Sena never really got Christmas. It's just... there. The holiday was loud and inescapable. Same songs on loop, annoying fake cheer, and the same dwelling pressure to feel something because the calendar says so. He's always found it exhausting...
He doesn't hate it. He doesn't like it either... well. Except that he now has people he cares about. So he should do something about... this.
Additionally, unfortunately, someone's birthday was approaching.
— a holiday cheer, and maybe a holiday kiss on top?
snow clung to their coats as the two slipped in the convenience store, the automatic door chiming like it was a victory to their escape from the cold. the heater inside blasted warm air straight at Sena's face, thawing the cold bite from his cheeks.
Narumi brushed snow off his hair with a dramatic shake. "If we stayed out there any longer, you'd have frozen solid."
Sena scoffed, tugging his scarf closer. "You're the one who wanted to take the scenic route."
"It was romantic."
"And slippery."
"What, you can't balance now? Tough."
Sena moved to step further inside, but Narumi stopped short, pulling him back by the sleeve.
"Wait," Narumi said, lifting a foot. "My shoe's— ugh. Snow. I can feel it melting." He made a face toward Sena, as if he could do anything about it.
Sena snorted. "That's what you get for kicking snow at me earlier."
"That was basically enrichment for you!" Narumi argued. "Kept you sharo and everything."
Sena rolled his eyes. "You're unbelievable." he said while slowly shaking his head.
"You like me too much for that."
"Unfortunately." Sena muttered. Maybe it was the heater blasting, or the cold still nipping despite the warmth, or the way Narumi looked at him right now— Sena felt something. A tug, an annoying tug that made him act and grabbed Narumi by the collar of his coat. It wasn't agressive, but enough to pull him close.
"What?" Narumi asked. Looking back with the that— stupid face— that Sena miraculously grew fond of, and kissed him. Quick, warm enough to chase every bit of winter away.
When they finally parted, Narumi whispered, "Wow. Right by the entrance? New." he grinned, mocking Sena's embarrassed and red-faced frown.
"I just needed a way to shut you up."
bonus:
Narumi grinned, holding up a small, neatly wrapped package. "For you. A little christmas cheer for our officer grinch."
Sena blinked, almost annoyed if it weren't for the fact that he felt a bit surprised— and maybe flattered.
"Since when do you give gifts?" He snorts, inspecting the box. "You sure you got me something I like, or is it something you say it's for me, but is actually for you?
Narumi shrugged, smirking, almost smug, "I think I know you well enough."
two prideful individuals who are often around the other, yet they distance their hearts through a cycle of denial and cynicism.
they are looking at each other, yet they refuse to meet in the eye. for two people who are always upfront about their words, their directions are always indirect.

kind of a filler post idk, I plan on drawing something for their upcoming 200 days :DD
" oshikawa, where is your loyalty to this division ?! "
your usual stone-faced platoon leader oshikawa found smiling once seeing vice captain hoshina! a surprise to see sena having a fond bond with somebody.
Sena introduces his Captain in the First Division to his dear friend Yomi. First impression lasts they say... but Narumi would rather have this one forgotten! Because who the hell introduces somebody and call them a creep?!
this is ooc for Sena because he'd NEVER play games with Narumi... maybe in another life where he isn't such a rigid stick lol + these are one of my old kn8 art from last year... so I don't expect it to be perfect or accurate since I was just drawing for fun
