You don’t have to keep your heart hostage because someone didn’t reply back or take initiative or decided to invest elsewhere. You really can just leave if you feel (especially if it’s been consistently proved) that they don’t value you. You are not bound to anyone. It doesn’t matter how deep the connection, you are not dependent on anyone else to be thankful for your life. You need to realize that this year. Don’t be afraid for them, be afraid that you may allow yourself to stay like this forever. You know you don’t deserve that. You know how loving and kind and funny and good you are. You deserve someone who knows that without a second glance and who works to consistently protect your value.

What’s kinda comforting is that God is always listening and seeing. He’s always there when we need Him and He won’t ever turn away from us. Pure love comes from God alone and knowing that whatever happens in your life, someone is watching you and caring for you is more than beautiful. God never wants to abandon us and even puts us in situations where we’re kinda forced to remember Him or seek for help and that’s so heartwarming. Putting your heart into hands of people won’t fill it completely, it could even leave it emptier than before. Give yourself to God and He takes care of you.
