Me, after seeing how Thorkyrie was treated during Endgame:
You can finally rest now.
of course natasha’s death was one of the saddest deaths in the mcu but i will be forever thankful that she died protecting the man she loves and that she died with agency (something a lot of other characters didn’t get). love you natasha.
Look, I get that not everyone enjoyed Endgame. I am well aware. But the problem I have seen in almost every reblog and almost every textpost is that things didn’t go your way, so you’re upset about it. Tony dying was extremely sad, yes. I cried three time just throughout his death, the funeral, and Morgan’s line. But it was good writing. Anything else would have been off for his character. He came full circle. Nat dying? Also a perfect end to her story arc because the red in her ledger is wiped out. Someone somewhere complained that Clint killed innocent people, but he didn’t – he killed people in the cartels and other people who killed others. What he did was wrong, maybe, but it wasn’t killing innocent people.
Nat dying was not as a result of misogyny. Steve’s choice to go back to Peggy was perfectly in character for him. Tony’s death was the only way to end his story.
Are there things I wish had happened? Yes, but I recognize that Endgame was good writing. You all need to separate wish fulfillment from good writing. Just because things didn’t go your way doesn’t make this movie bad. On the contrary, that’s half of what makes it good – any story that’s littered with wish fulfillment is bound to be a terrible story.
We all knew Tony was going to die. We all predicted it for IW. We got our Irondad hug and Tony got himself a family. Peter saw Tony die moments later, but this was a war and Tony just wielded the gauntlet, which nearly killed both the Hulk and Thanos. If you write something being that powerful, you need to follow through with it.
Have your opinions on Endgame. But if you reblog from me and rant about Endgame, put it in the tags or specifically tag your rants with “endgame critique” or “endgame rant” or even “anti endgame.” I don’t want to see it. I’m tired of seeing people complain because things didn’t go their way. I’m not asking for much – I am just asking that you tag your complaints and your rants. Please. Some of us actually think Endgame was great writing.
my eyes r sweaty
Marvel: Hey Russos! Maybe people who love Steve Rogers would be so happy if he finally got to live the life he always wanted! Maybe with the love of his life?
Russo’s: That sounds like a great idea. He’ll say goodbye to his best friends and live a long, fulfilling life as someone he wants to be instead of stuck being Captain America for the rest of his life!
Y'all: oH nO! wHy dIdnT hE sTaY wItH bUCCKYY?? bAd wRiTinG!!1!1!1!
I’m so so glad we got to see tony being a good dad to morgan. he went through childhood without ever hearing his father say i love you, but he loved his own child so fiercely it showed in their every interaction. howard’s father was abusive to him, howard was cold to his son, but tony broke that cycle and i’m so happy we got that. i’m so happy we got to see a character with a shitty childhood be a good parent.
Everyone in my theater literally screamed when the MCU ladies teamed up.
the last person who ever got a hug from tony stark was peter parker
Tony’s death is so unfair idc. Unfair to Morgan who’ll grow up without her father. Unfair to Pepper who will never get to grow old with the love of her life. Unfair to Peter who had just found a father figure and is loosing him all over again. Unfair to Tony Stark who deserved to grow old and live a happy long life with his family like Steve, like Clint, like Scott. Just so so unfair
me @ those parts of endgame:
Steve: *summons mjölnir*
Everyone in the cinema:
Okay, you win.
Peter: woah, that was a weird dream
Strange: WAKE UP BITCH WE GOTTA SAVE THE UNIVERSE
Dude it really pissed me off that they didn’t give Nat a proper goodbye. I mean Hawkeye she died for you and loved you family and you, and Steve she literally went on the run with you after she let you go and Bucky. I mean she deserved a funeral
natasha romanoff spent the last five of years giving a Shit when literally no one else wanted to. she stayed ALONE in the avengers base, checking on not only world but universe affairs. natasha romanoff sacrificed HER LIFE for the universe and the people she loved.
she did not deserve a one minute scene where a bunch of whiny men argued and bruce banner threw a bench into a lake
