Hi! I wanted to ask after going through your mcd timeline, what exactly are shadow knights? I saw that you head canon Xavier as one of the first shadow knights, I’ve forgotten how individuals even become shadow knights, are they immortal and what do they work for? Shad right? Wait do shad and the void work tg? Didnt shad get reincarnated into Aaron? And by extension, what exactly is the nether? Do you think it alway existed, is it a different dimension? Dyk if it exists in the mys universe (I lowk haven’t watched all of mys and idk how it connects to mcd) also, does the jury of 9 have the same reincarnation thing going on as the warriors?
These are a LOT of questions (ik and im sorry abt that, I lowk could maybe google and go thru the wiki for some of these 😭) but I love your takes on mcd related stuff, it’s super fascinating and the more I get back into the fandom the more concrete explanation I want for so many of the loose plot threads

HI!! please never apologise for asking questions! i love mcd lore, as convoluted as it is at times, and explaining it :3 thank you for asking me!! it means so much that people like to hear my yapping about it :')
breaking this down into seperate questions to make it easier for me to answer :3
what are shadow knights? (how do they become one? are they immortal? who do they work for?)
shadow knights are undead creatures like zombies or vampires. they're "reborn" from the nether after their death (usually because they believe they had a wrongful death or if they're powerful guards who would make a good addition to shad's army) or through a "ritual" (like laurance). they are shad's knights, they work to bring him back to power so he can rule the world. they CAN be immortal, but they have to "kill a person that means the most to [them], or a good handful of innocent people"; the most common way of a shadow knight gaining immortality is (if they were a guard before their death) to kill their lord—for example, sasha with joh, vincent with his brother and gene with the lord of boboros.
does shad work with the void/empty?
no! the empty/void is its own entity. shad actively worked AGAINST it with the other divine warriors. we see the empty in regards to shad a few times—when laurance escapes the nether (this is because ungrth broke through the realm barrier, which marked him with the emptiness) and when aaron is given void burns (from doing the same into the irene dimension)—but they aren't working together.
did shad get reincarnated into aaron?
aaron is a descendant of shad, and he saved aaron's body/soul from death and took it over. we don't get a direct answer as to whether aaron is shad's reincarnation or not.
my theory is that he's not a reincarnation—shad's soul/heart is still alive but sealed away in the nether. it's a similar way to how aphmau isn't irene's reincarnation. for example, garroth is esmund's reincarnation because his body died so his soul moved on, but because shad's never did he didn't get the ability to reincarnate. so aaron is just a descendant so his body is a good match for shad's soul/power, but he's not the reincarnation.
what exactly is the nether? (has it always existed? is it a seperate realm?)
the nether is a seperate realm (accessible by an obsidian portal opened in the overworld and a certain human sacrifice). we aren't given any details as to when it came into existence unfortunately :(. shad is locked there by the divine warriors after the war of the magi, so we at least know it existed before then.
i have a mini theory that irene created the nether as one of the realms used to battle with shad :3
does the nether exist in mystreet?
there's no mention of the nether in mystreet as far as i know.
do the jury of nine have the same reincarnation as the divine warriors?
nope. the divine warriors were irene's equals and all had relics which gave them immortality/the ability to reincarnate. the jury of nine were a special guard unit chosen by xavier to guard irene—they have specific powers linked to their titles but these can be relinquished. they don't reincarnate.
you could be confusing these because ivy was in the possession of shad's relic at one point and zane was searching for the relics too, but the jury just worked for zane and aren't actually linked to the warriors!

help i just had to draw zane with this tumblr post. also i couldnt decide between mystreet zane and mcd zane. so i randomly picked mystreet. but u can view this as either or.
for real once you realize that you can actually wear whatever you want and call yourself whatever name and pronouns you want and have whatever interests you want and be whatever gender you want your life gets so much better and more fun
