The house of the Pope, y'all.
Inside the Colosseum
The Roman Forum. The history underneath these stones is incredible.
"Regalate un sacco di caffè acquisterete un sacco di amici."
It means, "Giving a lot of coffee will acquire a lot of friends."
Trevi Fountain, you were magical.

Now that’s an ad for the Dukan Diet. Photograph by Christopher Wahl for Vanity Fair.
I went to a hair salon today and chopped off five inches of my hair. My new look will only reaffirm a bartender's first thought, which is "Why is this 12 year old trying to order a mojito?"
I swear I'm 21.
Piece of Advice
heartsprings:
“Well, you are about to start the greatest improvisation of all. With no script. No idea what’s going to happen, often with people and places you have never seen before. And you are not in control. So say “yes.” And if you’re lucky, you’ll find people who will say “yes” back.
Now will saying “yes” get you in trouble at times? Will saying “yes” lead you to doing some foolish things? Yes it will. But don’t be afraid to be a fool. Remember, you cannot be both young and wise. Young people who pretend to be wise to the ways of the world are mostly just cynics. Cynicism masquerades as wisdom, but it is the farthest thing from it. Because cynics don’t learn anything. Because cynicism is a self-imposed blindness, a rejection of the world because we are afraid it will hurt us or disappoint us. Cynics always say no. But saying “yes” begins things. Saying “yes” is how things grow. Saying “yes” leads to knowledge. “Yes” is for young people. So for as long as you have the strength to, say “yes.”
And that’s The Word.”
-Stephen Colbert, Commencement speech for Knox’s class of 2006
What's your short story?
Ernest Hemingway once claimed that he could write a great story in six words or less. He backed up his claim. His story: "For sale: baby shoes. Never worn."
John Mayer wrote: "This heart doesn't come with instructions."
Taylor Swift wrote: "My diary is read by everyone."
Everyone knows what Julius Caesar wrote: "I came. I saw. I conquered."
Ones that I've read that I've liked:
She never meant what she said.
Her best revenge was her success.
Enjoying the ride, even the bumps.
He's not worth it. Still isn't.
Student, wife, mother, widow, graduate, grandmother.
Girl meets boy; insert cliche here.
Still set the table for two. (!!—Omg, so sad.)
Not quite finished, tell you later. (I love this six-word memoire.)
I thought we had more time.
What would your great six-words story say?
Edits:
- I'm getting some really good ones via all kinds of Internet outlets (Fb/Twitter/Tumblr Ask/etc) Here's two of my faves so far! :-)
Is this what I really want?
Dad, I think she's the one.
- (2/25/10 @ 11:37pm) Here's some more! Some are good advices to remember. Others, I wish I could meet the writer and ask them what their story is.
Falling is the best part; jump. (I like this one a lot.)
Fall in love with gentlemen only.
Failure is the best free lesson.
You weren't worth it after all. (Aww! So sad.)
In short: heart, soul, and fight.
