On busy streets in Japan, people hand out free stuff as advertisements. I got so many random fans and tissue packets (not pictures).
Kaomoji stuff!! Banana Chocolate Daifuku and two Kaomoji keychain plushies.
Cheap figures (?) I bought. Madoka/Homura were only like ¥500 each and Miku was ¥630! So cute (*`へ´*)
Text post for thoughts
I got home yesterday at like 11 am. I spent the day resting since I am still pretty jet-lagged. So I'm unpacking now and just thinking about the overall trip. I already miss Japan a lot. The past week or so was really fun because I was tying up loose ends and having fun and shopping before leaving. It's funny that I got used to the really humid weather. I live in the PNW so coming back here, my first reaction was that it was really cold outside!! I was freezing my ass off when I woke up this morning. I'll write stuff later, I'm unpacking stuff right now and will post pics of things that I bought.
As gratitude for my host family, I folded 100 cranes. 1000 is too much for a short period of time!! 25 for each member of the family that took care of me for this month. Will present it to them as a goodbye gift.
Made wagashi - Japanese sweets. Filled with red bean paste! Wagashi is way too sweet for me but I like it in really small quantities .
The Hyogo Prefectural Art Museum is ridiculously close to my homestay (like a 1 minute walk) so I headed over there today. The exhibition: Marie Antoinette The dresses were really beautiful. So many little details and intricate little things. I really want to imagine someone wearing them. I thought they were amazing (Although I kept thinking it would be a pain in the ass to constantly walk with a train on the back of the dress).
After Kinkakuji on Saturday, our group went to some Kimono/Textiles museum and there was a kimono fashion show. They were so beautiful and detailed ヽ(´o`; I want to wear one too ~~ I want to wear a yukata actually because it's lighter and meant for hot weather anyways.
I KEEP FORGETTING TO POSt
Anyways on Saturday I went to ~totally touristy~ Kinkaku-ji Temple in Kyoto. Beautiful place but the building itself was much smaller than I thought it was going to be.
It was really too hot in Kyoto (hotter than Kobe) so I wasn’t in the mood for taking many pics of the temple.
Sorry I keep posting to my main blog on accident
I don't have anything else interesting to post at the moment so here's stuff that I've eaten over the past few days.
I haven't posted for a while so I won't put a time stamp here ~ This was a few days ago when I went to explore this game arcade next to the train station. So many cute stuffed animals I NEED THEM //heavy breathing// Found the fabled AKB48 Pachinko slots and a Taiko no Tatsujin arcade game!! I have the game on my DS but never played it on the arcade version. They even have Vocaloid songs!!
[ July 16, 2013 ; 10:06 pm ] As of this moment, I have 8 mosquito bites and a lot of redness/rashes near the bites that I'm sure was also caused by bugs somehow. Mosquitos need to be extinct right now, I don't care about the ecological effects they would have >_< Actually I've heard that if they went extinct, it wouldn't have a huge effect anyways. I REALLY HOPE IT HAPPENS DURING MY LIFETIME.
[ July 15, 2013 ; 3:37 pm ] So I found this manga store
[ July 14, 2013 ; 9:01 pm ] Nothing super interesting happened today, just a Sunday haha. 1. Went to Kobe Harborland, and bought a gelato & brownie crepe. Delicious! 2. McDonalds for lunch. Not an interesting pic but the food was good... Seemed fresh cooked. 3. Soccer game at Kobe Stadium! Our team (Vissel Kobe) didn't score for almost the entire game until like the last 2 minutes. 1 : 0 was the score so they won.. Haha 4. This was actually yesterday but I saw these in Nara and I HAD TO HAVE THEM. I love kaomoji (●'w'●)
[ July 13, 2013 ; 8:38 pm ] Today was a fun and tiring day! Went to Todai-ji Temple in Nara, Japan. The temple is famous for confident(?) deer. The deer are used to people so they're kind of cocky and expect food from people/will bite your papers and stuff. But they're friendly in a way because they really don't care if you pet them or whatever. Ehh... The area smelled of deer urine and there were droppings everywhere, but it was still fun to interact with the deer! We did go to Osaka later but I didn't take many pictures because my phone was low on battery. We only went to Osaka Castle so I only have a few pics of the castle since you're not allowed to take pics on some floors inside the castle.
[ July 12, 2013 ; 7:15 pm ] Just pics of my lunch today. Pork Katsu Curry, strawberry milk, and a cute blueberry cheesecake. 7-11 is soooo good. That would be weird if I said that about America's 7-11 but Japan's 7-11 are amazing. (I mean for god's sake, someone got shot and mugged at my local 7-11 before (´Д` )(´Д` )(´Д` )(´Д` )(´Д` ) ) I'm really going to miss konbini when I go back...
