She had to go to Texas. I hae a note from her. I can take Mel Friday for the night. We can have a girls night.

Oh, alright. Well, thank you again for takin’ Mel for the night. It was the first time I got a good amount of sleep in who knows how long. Plus she said she had a blast and wants to know when she can stay over your place again. I told her that you were busy but I’m sure you’d be able to do another one eventually.

That’s still cute. There aren’t a lot of M names, you know? You won’t believe how often I think, or well, used to think about stuff like that. I think about boy and girl names way more than I would like. I will, eventually. It’s all apart of getting old, I guess.

Thanks. Her mom’s name started with an M so I sort of picked it for that.... but yeah. I never used to think ‘bout anythin’ like that before. Not until I found out she was on the way. I don’t think I even really wanted a kid until Mel came into the picture. Now I’m havin’ to think ‘bout and deal with all sorts of things I’d never thought I would. Yeah, happens to the best of us.

See, exactly! It’s like nothing lasts anymore! The most I can make out of a buck with my food is Mcdonalds and I don’t wanna die just yet! I feel the same way. Between school and working at a job that doesn’t afford a livable wage, I’m Mr. Broke McBrokester. Well, correct me if I’m wrong, but love does knock at first. Then it kicks the door down and let’s itself in

You can always go to the Dollar Tree, I sometimes get things there but they ain’t go a whole lot so it’s slim pickins’. Yeah, I try not to go there a bunch either, even if Mel is always askin’ for it. I don’t want her being super unhealthy like me. You and I both. Well, maybe so but if that’s the case then I’ll just have to get me a deadbolt. Problem solved.

I can’t, our place is barely big enough for us let alone add in a pony. Those cost a lot of money and I ain’t got some fancy job like you, doc. So if I did I would but unfortunately I can’t afford somethin’ like that.

Oh I am sure! Especially with your little one. She’s a bundle of excitement all over. And now I can picture her telling you what she wants.. Does she still want a puppy? I sort of recall Keila telling me that some time ago. And floss! Don’t forget about that. Sometimes things get stuck there and it’s irritating.

Now you know how I feel all the time, man. It’s like that but 24/7. She makes me feel so old sometimes. A puppy, a kitten, a bunny... she wants anything that ain’t basically a fish and I keep tellin’ her that we ain’t got the money to take care of an animal like that and that they’re too much of a responsibility. Yeah, I forget ‘bout that one myself sometimes but I try to get her to do it.

Where’d she go? If you want the company I’m more than fine with lettin’ you borrow Mel for a bit. Sleepovers aren’t really my thing so I think she’d like one better with you.

Tell Mel to hold onto her horses! Hah! I can imagine her excitement. She’s precious. But really, cant blame her. I have friends who already told me that they have a wishlist on the costumes they’re gonna buy for next year’s Halloween. I mean Christmas is not even here yet! And true about cavities – also can you imagine the cost? Honestly dentistry can get a little too pricey for my liking.

That’s easier said than done with an eight year old, man. Yeah, I thin most kids just get exceited about it. She’s already passed it though and onto Christmas now. She keeps tellin’ me what she wants. The dentist costs are ridiculous. I’m trying to save as much money as I can by keepin’ her brushing good.
