Leviara thought nothing of it, and turned around, having not expected one of the waitresses to be working so late – she knew Mike worked late, but Matilda? She glanced to Freddy quickly, who said nothing as he stared into the camera lens. “Oh, hello.” She quickly muttered, walking quickly into another part of the pizzeria. She needed to get into a vent and fast – she couldn’t have herself being followed.
Matilda paused, thinking. She was sure she recognised the stranger. When she returned from her thoughts, she noticed that the stranger, and Freddy, were both gone. Freddy? Wow, she had been thinking a while then! Freddy usually spent his night staring at the non-functional camera, laughing and playing his jingle. Rushing out of the kitchen, the employee screeched at the shadow of the intruder.”H-hey! Come back!”
She sighed, hiding behind a wall, keeping her breathing quiet and steady when Matilda called for her.
She quickly took off her cleaners’ uniform, a leather shirt and shorts had been underneath the uniform, and pulled out a black mask that she put over her head, covering half of her face – leaving her identity safe. Leviara turned around, her wavy hair following her actions, giving Matilda a sly grin as she climbed up into a vent. Her backside quite obviously seen.
Matilda huffed, all traces of the intruder gone. She wandered around a corner, seeing Leviara(though she didn’t know her name, of course. What powers the narrator has). The woman climbed into a vent and Matilda, being dedicated, followed her into it.”Excuse me! You can’t be here after hours! And you certainly can’t be in the vents!”

Matilda hummed. He’d spoken. Running through what he’d said, she realised he hadn’t said any programmed phrases, all of which she heard endlessly during her shifts. Her already pale face seemed to become even more ashen and she stuttered.”B-Bonnie? You j-just spoke. Like, spoke spoke. Ha-have you always been able to do that?” She wondered aloud, stepping forward. Everything was fine. Everything. Okay, so she was shaking. Everything was fine. Okay, yeah, she was stuttering. Still all fine. Sweet, innocent Matilda. When will you learn that when working with robots, nothing is ever fine?
❛ well of course! ❛
he’s a little taken a back by the ineffable surprise to her tones, and for a moment he wonders if he’s done something badly wrong (he’d hate to make himself a bother); but then he remembers that conversation between animatronic and staff doesn’t tend to happen, even when something internally breaks &&. he’s given the chance to go about off his own accord.
❛ don’t be frightened. ❛
Matilda giggled. It was feverish, but it was still an expression of joy. “You can talk!”She exclaimed, repeating it again and again as she rushed over to the animatronic. “Have you always listened to me? Every time I said hello?” She asked, excited, tears welling in her eyes. Her childhood hero could respond! This was beyond wonderful. “I couldn’t dare be frightened around you, Bonnie.”

As in most situations in which something goes wrong, Matilda was alone and working late. Mike was in his office, probably napping, and the animatronics were doing their own thing. Strange. She hummed to herself, barely hearing the crash in the kitchen. She stepped back, pausing to clarify if she had heard something. Wandering into the room, she waved to Freddy who stood, staring at the broken camera. There was a woman standing there. She was in a cleaners uniform. The stranger was attractive, and Matilda felt herself getting a little nervous. “H-hello. Can I help you, miss?”

Matilda had been sweeping the floors. After a party it was certainly known to be a task that only the best of employees could work on, and, priding herself on loving her job, the Brit had taken the chance immediately. There was a small pang of regret now, however, as she leaned exhaustedly against the brush in her hands. There was a noise behind her and she gasped, swivelling around to get a good look at the doorway. Bonnie, her absolute favourite of the animatronics stood there, stationary, a blank and, in truth, a little frightening stare in his eyes. He didn’t appear to be doing anything. She shrugged, throwing the brush to the floor and hopping over to him. “Hey Bon! How you doin’, boy? They don’t usually switch you to free roaming mode this early. Somethin’ up?” She began, though she knew the bunny’s response would be one of only six programmed phrases.
to have his servos freed from relentlessly preforming to the daily humdrum that accompanied numerous birthdays &&. hosted events was always a great relief (though in the rabbit’s static-run mind, it was such a terrible shame that they were only allowed to prowl around after hours – and even more of a shame that from midnight to dawn he was very much powerless against the forces that were) but needless to say, surprise flickered behind red optics as the mechanical lock yielded early.
he’s old – sometimes certain fail safes don’t work.
no matter, though! it’s not like bonnie gets up to any mischief when unguided. in fact, as he stands at the entrance to the room in which he’d heard the most noise, he regards the employee that greeted him with a sense of excitement (nobody – apart from those with sticky fingers &&. bright eyes – really spoke to him during the day ).
❛ hey darlin’! my servos are broken! ❛
too much excitement.
