“You must be a comic-exclusive character then because I don’t recall seeing you in Spider-Verse.” He responded with a laugh. “I hope you’ll use your powers for good as well.”
“Oh, no, I’m the Spider Man gone wrong. I’m the villain, stabbing innocent hoodlums in alleyways.” He grinned.
“Ah, well, perhaps you’ll have a redemption arc someday, if you’re popular enough with the fans.”
wakaitantei
“Then it’s a good thing you conveniently had a rare, natural-born talent and the equipment to use it?” He smiled as he tilted his head.
The ugliest cackle came out of Sing at the joking accusation. “Isn’t it just convenient? I’m like the Chinese Spider-Man, this stuff just came to me one day after I was bitten by a radioactive hourglass spider.”
“You must be a comic-exclusive character then because I don’t recall seeing you in Spider-Verse.” He responded with a laugh. “I hope you’ll use your powers for good as well.”

“I’m a performer. Appearances are crucial. Perhaps my priorities would be inverse if I stabbed people in alleyways as a teenager.”
“Don’t come for me, that guy pulled the gun first.” Sing laughed.
"Then it's a good thing you conveniently had a rare, natural-born talent and the equipment to use it?" He smiled as he tilted his head.

“I find it more appropriate to have a limited wardrobe, but with a bit more invested in each article. Dressing nice is important, in my business. Nonetheless, no matter how many complaints I hear, there’s nothing I can do about my ‘everything’.”
“And what is this line of work that required you be well dressed and empty headed about self preservation?”
“I’m a performer. Appearances are crucial. Perhaps my priorities would be inverse if I stabbed people in alleyways as a teenager.”
wakaitantei
“Like….’this’?” Nori parroted, looking down. “Are you referring to my clothes? I bought them in Japan.”
“No, i’m referring to your everything. The clothes aren’t that bad, if they didn’t look like they belonged on someone with money to spare.”
“I find it more appropriate to have a limited wardrobe, but with a bit more invested in each article. Dressing nice is important, in my business. Nonetheless, no matter how many complaints I hear, there’s nothing I can do about my ‘everything’.”

“…” He paused for a moment, just staring at the other. “Well, I suppose I can’t argue with that.”
“You really can’t. Running around like this” Sing said, gesturing to the entirety of Nori. “is really, really white of you.”
“Like....’this’?” Nori parroted, looking down. “Are you referring to my clothes? I bought them in Japan.”
wakaitantei
“No?” Nori responded, tilting his head curiously. “I’ve lived with my dad in Japan for the past six years.”
“Huh, because that was the whitest shit I’ve heard in forever.”
“...” He paused for a moment, just staring at the other. “Well, I suppose I can’t argue with that.”
wakaitantei
“Your worry won’t cause me to act any differently than I do by default.” And nor has anyone else’s, as the other members of Secret could unfortunately attest.
“… Do you live with the white part of your family that’s well off?” Sing asked suddenly.
“No?” Nori responded, tilting his head curiously. “I’ve lived with my dad in Japan for the past six years.”
wakaitantei
“Because worrying has never stopped unfortunate events from happening.” He shrugged.
“I have to disagree. Worrying leads to caution and planning, which greatly reduces the risk of unfortunate things.”
“Your worry won’t cause me to act any differently than I do by default.” And nor has anyone else’s, as the other members of Secret could unfortunately attest.
wakaitantei
“No, not particularly.” He answered, shaking his head. “I do understand why most would be concerned, although I’m sure I’ll be alright. You shouldn’t worry.”
“I shouldn’t, huh? And why is that?” He wondered, openly amused.
“Because worrying has never stopped unfortunate events from happening.” He shrugged.
wakaitantei
“Because I haven’t wandered through here before, and I supposed I’d get to see something new.” He responded matter-of-factly, “And I was correct to assume as much, considering what I saw just a few minutes ago.”
“And you’re not worried about that or getting stuck in the wrong part of town?” Sing asked with a raised brow.
“No, not particularly.” He answered, shaking his head. “I do understand why most would be concerned, although I’m sure I’ll be alright. You shouldn’t worry.”
wakaitantei
“Although that was clearly a joke, it’s a fair criticism.” He gratefully accepted his notebook, putting it away for now. “For the most part, yes. Just writing things down can also change how you process them. No one else sees them, if it’s any reassurance.”
“That’s pretty weird, honestly. I’m not that worried about anyone seeing that little bit you wrote about me, though.” Sing shrugged. “I am interested in why a well-off looking guy like you is wandering around these parts.”
“Because I haven’t wandered through here before, and I supposed I’d get to see something new.” He responded matter-of-factly, “And I was correct to assume as much, considering what I saw just a few minutes ago.”
wakaitantei
“No, I’m neither. I write down anything I see that I find interesting because human memory tends to leave gaps that it fills with false information.” He held his hand out as though this should be reassuring enough. “May I have that back now?”
“How do you know what your eyes saw was the same as what your brain got?” He asked a little teasingly as he went ahead and handed the book back. It didn’t really have anything concerning in it, at least. There wasn’t much reason to erase any of the observations this weird guy made. “And what do you use all these interesting notes for? Just to remember?”
“Although that was clearly a joke, it’s a fair criticism.” He gratefully accepted his notebook, putting it away for now. “For the most part, yes. Just writing things down can also change how you process them. No one else sees them, if it’s any reassurance.”
wakaitantei
“Ah- That’s not nice.” He says to the guy he just saw stab someone. He wrote down exactly what he saw. Empirical evidence is key, after all. The same page also includes other things he witnessed that day, a few of which were also crimes.
“… You’re not a cop or a reporter, are you?” He asked with a raised brow at the other guy, not making any move to hand the notepad back over.
“No, I’m neither. I write down anything I see that I find interesting because human memory tends to leave gaps that it fills with false information.” He held his hand out as though this should be reassuring enough. “May I have that back now?”
wakaitantei
“That’s incredible. You’ve accomplished something logic would assume could only happen in movies.” Nori pulled a small notebook and pen from his pocket, quickly jotting down a few notes for himself with the slightest of smiles. “I would ask if this happened often, but considering our current location, I think the answer is self-evident.”
“Is it now– wait, are you taking notes?” Sing asked incredulously, snatching up the notebook to see what this guy was writing.
“Ah- That’s not nice.” He says to the guy he just saw stab someone. He wrote down exactly what he saw. Empirical evidence is key, after all. The same page also includes other things he witnessed that day, a few of which were also crimes.
wakaitantei
“I’m alright. Although, I would be more concerned about you. You were the one involved in a fight, after all.”
Nonetheless, Nori accepted the help and pulled himself up to his feet. Had he not just seen this stranger attack someone with a bizarre knife, he would never assume he was capable of such a thing- but, having seen it after all, he got over his fall quickly.
“What is that weapon? How does it work? I’ve never seen something like that actually work.”
Sing blinked in surprise at the sudden onslaught of questions before snorting. “I’ve had a lot of practice with it. I can’t say I’ve seen anyone else do it in real life, either. It’s pretty hard to get it to work right.” He answered as he crossed his arms over his chest. “It wasn’t much of a fight there. Just another dumb shit white boy.”
