On Sunday I attended a Kiss-In organized by @voices4_ outside of the Uzbekistan consulate to protest anti gay laws, and hate crimes in Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan, and Tajikistan. It’s crazy to imagine that the simple act of sharing a kiss with your significant other could be met with violence. Queer people in these countries are suffering at the hands of their governments and it is our responsibility to use our privilege to bring light to this issue and help create change. I photographed this protest for @voices4_and @i_d and it was such a beautiful experience seeing people participate in the revolutionary act of kissing, and sharing the stories of those whose lives have been affected by anti gay legislation.
