waking up from a nap to find out school spirits just got renewed for season four 🤭

i almost jumped out of bed– this is the best news ever!!

obviously having the doors not be the end feels a little bit like a copout to keep the characters we love around longer BUT i actually kind of like it

to get your exit door, you have to relive and move past your worst nightmare, your biggest fear.

and to get to the other side of the river, you have to be ready to leave behind all the good memories, too.

at each step on the ladder, you have to confront parts of yourself and be ready to move on. i think thats kind of beautiful

So okay.

You die and go to purgatory 1, the place you died. You are forced to face the immediate situation of your death and worst memories.

You overcome this and go to purgatory 2, the forest. You are forced to face the opposite of what you just did, the unknown, with the risk of getting trapped in the familiar comfort of happy memories. Its a mirror (get it) of the earlier challenge.

You cross the river? That seems like the next step given thats where we saw the church kids and simons mom. Is this the end point? Is there something beyond the trees that we can't see? Or is it more of the same with an acceptance of the unknown this time?

So with the boundaries down what are the rules for seeing ghosts? Xavier so far has only been able to see hospital ghosts and Maddie only school ghosts - will they be able to see beyond that now? Will they be able to see ghosts anywhere in the world ANYBODY has died?

Oh so last week theres spoilers all over my dash all day but today i wake up early to watch and where are all the posts?? Everyone start posting 🥺

And wait okay so. The pastor was able to see the kids like Simon could see Maddie, which is that love and grief again. Van Heidt escaped when the lightning struck Mr. Martins friend, presumably body snatching him, which is how he got up and wandered away. And at the same time that somehow trapped the pastor there alive like Simon. Its not just the body snatching that causes it because we've had that happen a few times, but maybe something to do with specifically people like the pastor and Simon who already have that connection to the ghost world. The pastor was there in the church when Van Heidt escaped. Simon was there in the boiler room when Maddie got her body back. So they were specifically in the place the person leaving "died" when they got stuck and were able to see ghosts. Its not quite equivalent exchange but the energy lifting the veil in such a way that, in a place where its concentrated, and for someone who is already connected somewhat, its enough under those specific circumstances.

Anyways i guess i need to go to work now lmfao
