Synth fidgeted with his hair, pulling it even more in front of his face in an attempt to keep from making eye contact with anyone.
He just wanted to stay for the new king's opening song, then he was going to go home. He was already feeling anxious in the crowd, swimming between people and hoping he didn't bump into any of them.
"Thank you all for being here tonight!"
He heard the sound of Prince Trollex trying to hype up the crowd, but it just made him hunch his shoulders more. He was too quiet, too shy, too anxious to be at a party like this, what was he thinking?? He took a deep breath, trying to calm himself, reassuring himself that he could go home after just this song. Just one song.
"I hope you all enjoy your time here!"
I won't, Synth thought.
When the music started, he sighed in relief, knowing his time stuck in the crowd was finally drawing to a close. He glanced up, suddenly curious, and... for the first time, saw the prince who would be coronated today. And gasped.
He was gorgeous. He had such an enchanting grin, looking so excited, and he was just starting the music. When he bobbed his head, the ponytail on his head waved with the beat, adding to the already enthusiastic motions as he swam around the royal table, mixing and occasionally singing into a nearby micfish to remix his own voice in live... and that was amazing too, captivating like he was a siren.
Synth stared in awe, feeling the rhythm of the music fill him, his heart pounding in time with everyone else's, and he felt it. He felt the energy of the crowd, how everyone moved together as King Trollex directed them with a practiced hand, even beginning to bob and sway with everyone else, a grin spreading across his face in delight.
Oh, THIS is why everyone loves this, he thought, spinning in glee. He had never been to a party that had made him this happy before, finally flowing with everyone else, feeling the excitement build as they approached the drop, joining the shouts as King Trollex stretched it out, shouting "Wait for it!" back as anticipation rose.
BOOM!
He rolled with the sudden, wonderful explosion of music, spinning and shouting with happiness.
I think... I've found my beat, he thought, still looking in awe at the stage, and kept dancing, deciding to stay just a little longer.

hehe ye I hc that synth was kinda shy, and then he got a big ol crush on king trollex on his coronation night, and started working to be a DJ, and eventually was picked to be the delegate bc of it :D he rly likes high energy techno music, and definitely prefers raves over other kinds of parties 💙💜💚
some gust sketches cuz im tryin to figure out how i wanna draw him without making him... oddly nightmarish like the show occasionally does (seriously, does anyone else get a weird ventriloquist doll vibe from him? im almost tempted to make a monster/horror AU) and I'm pretty satisfied so far :3
