1. Azure

18 ' 24 inch oil in canvas from my series called 'Melanin.' For me, she represents pain- and within that pain she has a sense of tranquility. I think when I selected the muse behind this, I was going through somethings of my own and the monotone blue hues are a symbolism to that.

2. Gaze

20 × 24 oil on canvas. She is another crucial part of my Melanin series, as her hair in the shape of flowers depict her crown. She is bold, she is fierce and that is exactly what i wanted her to be like.

Day VIII.

It's been a while since I wrote to you.

Being able to talk to you through phone and calls have gotten me to realize that I can't force these feelings I have for you — that these previous seven letters showed — if you do not think you are on the same bridge as i am.

I would never want to force it on you.

What I can do is reminisce on those days because no matter how good I feel, or go and experience the world it was always supposed to be with you by side. Coming back home has been rejuvenating from a time in hell hole, but you don't realize just one smile from you fades all of that anxiety and pain away momentarily.

And in that moment, just for those seconds, it feels as if i experienced all the emotions i felt when i first said i loved you.

It is painful at times, but just to relive all those things once again i will go through it all over for as many times possible.

It has been days since I've felt you trace your fingers through my hair. I miss it, but there is an unsettling submission to the fact as days go by.

But still, the unrest to meet you soon resides.

Nature can be a beautiful thing. Sometimes we may forget it, disregard it or even be oblivious to it but— rekindle with your roots every now and then, it's a wonderful feeling.
