Do you know, there are some Chinese born Russian people in Northeastern China and Northwestern China? Exactly,most of them live in the northwest of Xinjiang , northeast of inner Mongolia and the north of the Heilongjiang Province. They have Chinese passports, they are also Chinese, Chinese born Russian people. There are just about 15 thousand Chinese born Russian people in China. They are a part of 56 nationalities of China. You should know, there is a very long borderline between China and Russia. And the borderline between two countries before 1991 was longer than contemporary borderline. Cause the whole Middle Asia was a part of Russia before 1991 and the whole Outer Mongolia was a part of China before 1945. Since the middle of the 18th century to the end of 19th century, cause of the brutal control of Tsar, many Russian people who lived beside the borderline moved across the border to China for freedom and living better. In 1934,the Russian people in Xinjiang were named 归化族, it meant that they naturalized in China. In 1949, they were renamed and restored their original name: Russian People in China. In the end of 1950's, many of them renounced their Chinese nationality and returned to Russia. So, now, the Russian people in China have some foreign relatives in Russia and Middle Asia. Usually, the Russian people in Xinjiang can speak Russian, Mandarin Chinese , Uigur and Kazakh . The Russian people in Inner Mongolia and Heilongjiang province can speak Russian and the dialect of northeastern China.

GREEN HAT, A CHINESE BAD WORD

Green hat is a bad word in Chinese . Why? Let me tell you. There was an artlcle of law in China during the Yuan Danasty. Its general meaning was just like this: the man whose wife was a prostitute ,he must wear a green hat on his head. He must be punished seriously by government if he didn't." So, green hat became a insulting appellation about men since then. If someone tell a man"you have weared a green hat" or "your hat is green.". It means his girlfirend or wife of that man is having an affair with other man. So ,foreign guys, if your girlfirends or wives are from China. You mustn't wear a green hat on your heads anytime and anywhere. Don't forget that. 绿帽子在中文里面是一个坏词。为什么呢？让我来告诉你们。在元朝时期，在中国有一条法律，其大概意思是：“妻子是娼妓的男子必须戴绿色的帽子在头上，若有违反，必将受到官府严惩。”所以，从那时起，绿帽子就变成了一个有关于男人的侮辱性称谓。如果有人告诉一个男子“你已经戴绿帽子了”或者“你的帽子绿油油的”。那就意味着，该男子的女友或妻子在出轨，和另一个男人在偷情。所以，国外的小伙子们，如果你们的女友或妻子来自中国，在任何时间，任何地点千万不能在头上戴绿色的帽子。千万别忘了。

It hadn't any railroad lines in Northeast China before 1880s. Beijing-Harbin Railway,the first railroad line in Northeast China,was built since 1881 to 1912. The length of it was 1388 kilometers before 2006. Cause of some reasons, it had been remodeled . At present, the length of it is 1249 kilometers . This railroad line is the one of the most important and main railroad lines in China, cause it's the connection between North China and Northeast China. It throughs many important cities: Beijing, the national capital of China; Tangshan, an important coal industrial city and the second biggest city in Hebei Province; Shanhaiguan Pass, the eastern extremity of Great Wall and the dividing line between North China and Northeast China; Shenyang, the biggest city in Northeast China and the provincial capital of Liaoning Province; Changchun, the provincial capital of Jilin Province; Harbin , the provincial capital of Heilongjiang Province . Cause of this, it's the one of the busiest railroad lines in China. A completely new line had been started to build near of it. It's called Beijing- Harbin High Speed Railway. It'll also through the same cities what I said. The difference between two is speed. The quickest speed of the high railroad line is about 350 kilometers an hour.The section of it which is from Harbin to Shenyang had been used since December 2012, the section which is from Beijing to Shenyang had just started to build since 2014. The whole high speed railroad line will be used after 4 or 5 years, between 2018 and 2020. Another important main railroad line is Shenyang-Dalian Railway. It was built by Russian since 1898 to 1903. The length of it is 400 kilometers. Dalian is the second biggest city in Liaoning Province and a famous ice-free port in China. At the beginning , it's a branch line of Dong Qing Railway. Dong Qing Railway is the branch line in China of Trans-Siberia Railway.Russian had the right of management and completely controlled it. In 1905, after the Russo-Japan War, Japanese invaders were the new owner of it and changed its name, called it South Manchuria Railway. In September 18th, 1931, Japanese army ordered a soldier to deliberately destroyed a section of South Manchuria Railway and hide the soldier quickly. After the destroying, Japanese said that Chinese army had killed the soldier. This was a pretext to annex Northeast China.Eventually, Japanese army raided Chinese army. This is the September 18th Incident . Before long, Japanese army completely occupied the whole Northeast China. In 1945, the Red Army of Soviet Union went into Northeast China and raided Japanese army. After the unconditional surrender of Japan, this railroad line was administered jointly by Russia and China. In 1949, the People's Republic of China was established, this situations in China had been changed forever. In 1952, Soviet handed over the right of management of it to China, completely unconditional. Since then, foreigners in China haven't any special rights and benefits forever. In 2012, a high speed railway in Northeast China had started to be used . It's called Harbin-Dalian High Speed Railway, the length of it is 921 kilometers, from West Harbin Station to North Dalian Station.The highest speed of the train on the line is about 350 kilometers an hour. It throughs Harbin, Changchun , Shenyang, Dalian. The 4 cities are the biggest cities in Northeast China. So this railroad line a new main railroad line in China. Harbin- Suifenhe Railway and Harbin-Manzhouli Railway are two special railroad lines . They are international railroad lines. The people who have passports for overseas can take a train from Harbin to Moscow ,Vladivostok or Ulan Bator. The length of Harbin- Suifenhe Railway is 548 kilometers and the length of Harbin-Manzhouli Railway is 935 kilometers .Suifenhe is a border city which is near of Far East of Russia, it's not far from Vladivostok ,the distance between two is about 270 kilometers . Harbin-Manzhouli Railway throughs these cities: Harbin, a beautiful place which is called ice city; Daqing, an important oil city in China; Qiqihar, a famous city which is famous for the red- crowned cranes; Hulunbuir, a really beautiful place which is famous for the Hulunbuir Grassland ;Manzhouli ,a border city which borders on Russia and Outer Mongolia ,and it's also the one of the busiest external trade port in China. The two railroad lines were built by Russian since 1898 to1901. The last 20 years of 19th century , Russia government decided to built a long railroad line from Vladivostok to Moscow , it's called Trans- Siberia Railway. It's the longest railroad line in the world,9288 kilometers, my God! It was built since 1891 to 1916. At the same time, because Russian government wanted to get many special rights in Northeast China and eventually control Northeast China, Russian invaders tried their best to convince the government of Qing Dynasty to agree with their advise: build a branch line of Trans-Siberia, which throughs Northeast China. Finally, they were successful . Harbin- Manzhouli Railway and Harbin-Suifenhe are the sections of the branch line.At the beginning, Russian completely controlled them and got a lot benefits. In 1930s, Japanese invaders had occupied whole Northeast China ,the puppet government completely controlled the two lines until 1945. In 2009, a completely new line had been started to build near of the two lines. It's called Harbin-Daqing-Qiqihar High Speed Railway, the length of it is 286 kilometers . It will start to be used in the second half of 2015. It'll through three important cities in Heilongjiang Province: Harbin, Daqing and Qiqihar . Experts say that the trains will run the whole distance in two hours. Changchun-Tumen Railway is an international railroad line between China and North Korea . It throughs Changchun, Jilin City and Tumen. Tumen city is a county level city in Yanbian Korean Autonomous Prefecture, it borders North Korea. So it's a border city. The length of the railroad line is 529 kilometers . The section from Changchun to Jilin City was built since 1910 to 1912; the section from Jilin City to Dunhua was built since 1926 to 1928; the section from Dunhua to Tumen was built since 1932 to 1933. Since 1987 to 1996, a new line was built, it's called Tumen-Hunchun Railway, from Tumen to Hunchun. Hunchun is also a border city, it's the only one border crossings city between three countries in Northeast China:Russia , China and North Korea . And Hunchun is really near of Vladivostok , which is the biggest city in Far East Federation of Russia. The distance between two is only 180 kilometers .So you can understand why the line was built. Its length is 66 kilometers . At present, there are two high speed railroad lines had been built or are building near of the two lines. One of them is called Changchun-Jilin High Speed Railway, from Changchun to Jilin City. It was built since 2007 to 2010, the length of it is 112 kilometers . The train runs the whole distance in an hour.Another line is called Jilin-Hunchun High Speed Railway, from Jilin City to South Hunchun, the length of it is 359 kilometers . It was started to build since 2010, it will start to be used in the second half of 2015. Another important international railroad line between China and North Korea is Mudanjiang-Tumen Railway. Mudanjiang City is located in the southeast of Heilongjiang Province, Mudanjiang Railway Station is the connected station between Harbin-Suifenhe Railway and Mudanjiang- Tumen Railway, that is why it was built. But at present , there isn't any international train between China and North Korea on the line. It was built since 1933 to 1935, the length of it is 248 kilometers . Shenyang-Dandong Railway is also an international railroad line between China and North Korea. It was built by Japanese since 1904 to 1905. The length of it is 277 kilometers . Dandong is a very important border city, it's located in the northern bank of Yalu River. Sin'uiju,which is the capital of North Pyong'an Province in North Korea , it's located in the southern bank of Yalu River and is really near of Dandong.At present,it has an international train from Beijing to Pyongyang , which is the national capital of North Korea. The train throughs Shenyang and Dandong. So the person who has a passport for abroad can board the train from Beijing,Shenyang or Dandong to Pyongyang. At the beginning, cause of the Russo-Japan War, Japanese invaders built it without permission to against Russia. At that moment, it was a light railway. In 1911, it was remodeled to become a standard gauge railway. After the Anti-Japanese War of China, it was seriously damaged during the Civli War. In the end of 1948, after the liberation of Shenyang, it was repaired. In 2010, a new line was started to built near of the line. It's called Shenyang-Dandong High Speed Railway, from South Shenyang to Dandong. The length of it is 207 kilometers . It will start to be used in the second half of 2015. The train on the line will run the whole distance in 50 minutes'. Fuyu-Xilinji Town Railway is an important transport line of forestry industry . Cause it throughs Greater Khingan Range, which is famous for the primary forests.It's from Fuyu County in Qiqihar to Xilinji Town of Mohe County in Daxing'anling Prefecture. Mohe County, the coldest place and the northern extremity in China.The length of the railroad line is 860 kilometers . The section which is from Fuyu County to Nenjiang County in Heihe was built since 1930 to 1936; the section which is from Nenjiang County to Xilinji Town was built since 1958 to 1972. Another railroad line throughs Fuyu County and can go to Qiqihar , so the freight trains which run on the line are always full of woody materials from Mohe to Qiqihar or Harbin everyday. The area which it throughs is the coldest area in China. Cause of the really bad climate , the speed of the trains on the line is really slow. It's always under 50 kilometers an hour, slower than a car's. Another important railroad transport line is called Baicheng-Arshaan Railway, Arshaan is a small city in the northeast of Inner Mongolia, which is near of the southern extremity of the Greater Khingan Range. It's also an important centre of forestry industry. There are some mineral resources in the city. Baicheng City is an important transportation centre in the northwest corner of Jilin Province. There are some railroad lines through Baicheng, one of them throughs Changchun, another throughs Qiqihar . So the railroad line is an important connected line between Northeast and Inner Mongolia. The length of it is 354.7kilometers and it was built since 1931 to 1937. At the beginning , Japanese invaders completely controlled it for extraction of mineral resources in Arshaan . At present, there are some historical relics of Japanese army near of the railroad line.In 1945, the Red Army of Soviet Union boarded trains for Northeast China to raided Japanese army. That was a really important element of the unconditional surrender of Japan. Changchun-Baicheng Railway is completely located in Jilin Province. From Changchun to Baicheng. The length of it is 333 kilometers. It throughs Changchun, Songyuan and Baicheng . Songyuan is famous for the Chagan Lake, which is a famous freshwater lake. It was built at the first time in 1935. In 1946, cause of some reasons, it was demolished. And it was rebuilt since 1958 to 1972. In 2014, a new line was started to build near of the line. It's called Changchun- Baicheng High Speed Railway, it will start to be used in 2019. The length of it is 322 kilometers. The highest speed of the train on the line will be 250 kilometers an hour. Siping-Qiqihar Railway is also an important railroad line in Northeast China, it's the connected line between the west of Heilongjiang Province and the southwest of Jilin Province. The length of it is 571 kilometers. Siping is the centre of the southwest of Jilin Province. Siping Railway Station is the connected station between Beijing-Harbin Railway and Siping-Qiqihar Railway; Qiqihar Railway Station is the connected station between Harbin-Manzhouli Railway and Siping-Qiqihar Railway. That's the importance of it. The section from Siping to Taonan in Baicheng City was built since 1917 to 1923, the section from Taonan in Baicheng City to Qiqihar was built since 1925 to 1926.

Han Nationality is not the only one nationality in Northeast China, but ,whatever , it’s distributed everywhere in Northeast and the biggest nationality of Northeast . That’s no doubt. Han Nationality is named after Han Dynasty. Before Han Dynasty period, Han Nationality is called Huaxia. Huaxia in Chinese means gorgeous and high-civilized. Han Nationality and settled in the southwest of Liaoning Province since Spring and Autumn period(770-476 BC). The southeast of Liaoning Province was a part of Yan State during Warring Period(475-221 BC). Qinshihuang(259-210 BC),who was the first emperor of Qin Dynasty(221-206 BC) started to build Great Wall . The eastern extremity of it was located in the east of Liaoning during Qin Dynasty. More and more people from everywhere in China were connected together and settled in Northeast. During the later Qing Dynasty, cause of the impoverishment and famine, many people crossed Bohai Strait by boat from Shandong Peninsula to Liaodong Peninsula. Dalian was the first colony of them.Before long, many people continued to migrate and settled in Jilin Province and Heilongjiang Province. During the 1960s and 1970s, because it needed much manpower to construct and develop Northeast. more and more young people from everywhere in China went into Northeast and settled in Northeast. They were called Educated Youths. One of a result was that the population of Northeast had been increased rapidly. There are some ethnic minorities in Northeast China. Russian Nationality is really a small nationality in China, the total population of it is about 15 thousand. It’s mainly distributed in the northeast of Heilongjiang Province ,the northeast of Inner Mongolia and Xinjiang Uighur Autonomous Region.Certainly , this nationality is from Russia,their former generations moved to China since the second half of 18th century. Some of them have relations in Russia. Hezhen Nationality is also a really small nationality in China. They are the locals in the east of Heilongjiang Province. The total population of the nationality is about 4640. It’s one of the smallest nationalities in China. This nationality is famous as fishermen near of Heilongjiang River and Ussuri River. The biggest ethnic minority in Northeast China is Manchu. The total population of it is about 10 million 400 thousand. It’s mainly distributed in the everywhere of Northeast China, the north of Hebei Province ,Beijing City and the northeast of Inner Mongolia. They are also the locals of Northeast China. Manchurian established Later Jin Dynasty in 1616 . In 1636, Later Jin Dynasty became Qing Dynasty. Before long, in 1644, they went into the area of inside Shanhaiguan Pass and occupied Beijing . Eventually , they controlled the whole China. Including Outer Mongolia, Xinjiang ,Tibet and Taiwan.That’s the last dynasty of China. Korean Nationality is the second biggest ethnic minority in Northeast China. The total population of it is nearly 2 million . It’s mainly distributed in the east of Jilin Province and Liaoning Province, near of the borders between China and North Korea . Especially , Yanbian Korean Autonomous Prefecture in Jilin Province is the biggest settlement of Korean in China. Certainly, just like Russian Nationality, their forefathers came from Korean Peninsula and moved to China since the second half of 18th century. Many people have relations in Korean Peninsula. Daur Nationality is the locals near of Nen River and Heilongjiang River, it’s distributed in the north of Heilongjiang Province and the northeast of Inner Mongolia. The total population of it is nearly 140 thousand. Most of the historians think that their forefathers are the descendants of Khitan . Khitan established Liao Dynasty (916-1125) in Northern China and Kara-Khitan Khanate ( 1132-1211)in Xinjiang Uighur Autonomous Region and Central Asia. Oroqen Nationality is a hunting nationality in Northeast China, the total population of it is nearly 9 thousand, it’s really small. It’s distributed in the northeast of Heilongjiang Province and the northeast of Inner Mongolia , mainly in the primary forests of Greater Khingan Range . They are famous for using reindeers in hunt. Ewenki Nationality is also a famous hunting nationality in Northeast China, and also like using reindeers in hunt. It’s mainly distributed in Ewenki Autonomous Banner of Hulunbuir City , which is in the northeast of Inner Mongolia. Partly distributed in Heilongjiang Province. The total population of it is about 30 thousand. In the second half of 17th century , Russian army went into Northeast China for invading. they massacred savagely the locals everywhere what they had been to. Including Ewenki people. Kangxi , who was one of the greatest emperor of Qing Dynasty,commanded personally Chinese army to strike back Russian. Ewenki people helped Chinese army to protect themselves .Finally, Russian invaders withdrew from China. Xibe Nationality is the local nationality of northeast , but now it’s mainly distributed in the midwest of Xinjiang Uighur Autonomous Region, near of Ili River. Exactly, in the Qapqal Xibe Autonomous County in Ili Kazakh Autonomous Prefecture. Partly in the Northeast China. The total population of it is about 190 thousand. Originally, all of them are in Northeast China. In 1764, the central government of Qing Dynasty made a decision about westward migration. For this reason: reinforcing western frontier defense. Most of the Xibe people leaved their hometown and moved to Xinjiang. Since that time, Xibe people have a big day every year: westward migration festival, which falls on April 18th of the lunar calendar. Mongolian Nationality is the one of the main ethnic minorities in China. The total population of it is about 6.5million . It’s mainly distributed in Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, Northeast China, Hebei Province, Xinjiang Uighur Autonomous Region, Gansu Province and Qinghai Province. Yuan Dynasty(1271-1368) was established by Mongolians, everybody knows that.Over 4 million Mongolians are living in Inner Mongolia . In Northeast China, the number of it is about 1 million. There are 4 Mongolian autonomous counties in Northeast China: Dorbod Mongolia Autonomous County in Daqing City, Heilongjiang Province; Qian Gorlos Mongolia Autonomous County in Songyuan City, Jilin Province; Harqin Left Mongolia Autonomous County in Chaoyang City, Liaoning Province and Fuxin Mongolia Autonomous County in Fuxin City, Liaoning Province.There is a proverb during Qing Dynasty, it said:” Manchurians and Mongolians are in a same family.” It was a political propaganda and a main policy of Qing Dynasty. Because Northeast China is really near of Inner Mongolia , Manchurians need help from Mongolians to govern well the whole China and consolidate their governance.Many illustrious and powerful families between the two nationalities were connected by marriages.

Northeast China is really large. The area of it is about 800 thousand square kilometers and the total population is about 110 million . There are three provinces in it, Chinese people call them Three Provinces of Northeast . All of them are borders.: Heilongjiang Province is in the north and borders on Far eastern Federal District of Russia; Jilin Province is in the middle of Northeast and borders on two countries-Russia and North Korea; Liaoning Province is located in the south of Northeast and is only one coastal province of Northeast China, and borders on the North Korea. There are 4 boundary rivers in the area. Heilongjiang River, Ussuri River , Tumen River and Yalu River. Heilongjiang River is the longest and largest river in the Northeast , the literal translation of the river is black dragon river .Russian people call it Amur River.It’s the third longest river in China , The length of it is 4440 kilometers.the upstream and the midstream of the river is border between two.the length of the border is 2854 kilometers.the area of the eastern bank of the river belongs to Russia, China owns the western bank of the river. So you know the downstream of the river completely belongs to Russia. Finally ,the river flow into Okhotsk Sea in Russia .Ussuri River ,which is the a tributary of Heilongjiang River,is the border between China and Russia. The length of it is 909 kilometers .Tumen River and Yalu River are the borders between North Korea and China, and the both rise in the Changbai Mountain. The length of Tumen River is 525 kilometers and the length of Yalu River is 795 kilometers . Yalu River is really a special river in Chinese contemporary history. In October 25th 1950, Chinese People’s Volunteer Army crossed the river and went into North Korea . For only one reason:resist the U.S. ,help North Korea . Certainly, you know the result of the war, China and North Korea were the winners. At present, there are 5 international bridges above the river. Songhua River is the main tributary of Heilongjiang River .the length of it is 1927 kilometers .Harbin, which is the provincial capital of Heilongjiang Province , is located in the northern bank of the river. Jilin City, which is the second biggest city of Jilin Province, is also near of the river. Nen River is the main tributary of Songhua River, the length of it is 1370 kilometers .Qiqihar,which is the second biggest city of Heilongjiang Province, is near of the Nen River. Liao River is also an important river and located in the south of Northeast. The length of Liao River is 1345 kilometers .Liaoyang City, which is the oldest city of Northeast , is located in the northern bank of the Liao River. There are some lakes in Northeast China. One of them is Khanka Lake , which is located in the southeast of Heilongjiang Province. It’s an international lake between China and Russia,its area is 4380 square kilometers .China owns the northern parts , it accounts for one-third of the lake; Russia owns the southern parts, it accounts for two-thirds of the lake. Another famous lake is Songhua Lake. It’s located in the north central area of Jilin Province and really near of Jilin City. That’s a part of upstream of Songhua River. Its area is 554 square kilometers.Especially, it’s a artificial lake, it was built by Japanese in 1937. Initially, it was the reservoir of a power plant. At present, the power plant is still used and near of the lake. It’s named Fengman Power Plant. There are also some mountains in Northeast China,Greater Khingan Range is the second biggest mountain in Northeast, the northern extremity of it is located in the northeast of Heilongjiang Province and the southern extremity of it is located in the northeast of Inner Mongolia, the length of it is about 1200 kilometers , the highest elevation of it is 2029 meters and the lowest elevation of it is 180 meters. It’s famous as a big forestry industrial base, because it has lots of primary forests. Lesser Khingan Range is located in the north central of Heilongjiang Province,the length of it is about 500 kilometers .the highest elevation of it is 1429 meters. it’s also famous for the primary forests. It has two big national forest parks. Changbai Mountains is the biggest range in the Northeast China, the length of it is about 1300 kilometers . The highest elevation of it is 2750 meters. That’s a volcanic mountain range between Jilin Province and North Korea. And it’s also a sacred mountain of Manchuria mythology. Yiwulv Mountain is also famous. It’s located in the southwest of Liaoning Province, exactly, it’s in the Beizhen City,which is a county level city of Jinzhou City. It’s not big, the highest elevation of it is 866.6 meters. It’s a sacred mountain of Taoism. It’s a place for religious activities of confucianism, buddhism and taoism. There are many temples on the mountain. It’s really cold in Northeast China. The average frost-free period of Northeast is about 150 days,since May to October every year. Mohe County ,which is in the north of Heilongjiang Province, is the coldest place in China. The lowest temperature of it was 52.3 degrees centigrade below zero in 1969. Usually, the temperature of Mohe in winter is under 30 degrees centigrade below zero every year. Although it’s so cold in Northeast, it’s also a really important agricultural region in China. The rice from Northeast is very popular in China. It also produces plenty of soybeans and sorghums . Cause of the rich black earth and many big rivers.

SOME SIMPLE KNOWLEDGES OF SHANGHAI

Shanghai is a large city, everybody knows that. The area of Shanghai is about 6340 square kilometers. In 2010, there were about 14 million people had got the household register and the total population of Shanghai is about 23 million. In 2013, there were over 10 million people hadn’t got the household register and the total population of Shanghai is about 25 million. That almost equals the total population of Taiwan Province. But the area of Taiwan Province equals about six times as large as Shanghai. It’s too huge to believe. There are 16 districts and a county in Shanghai . Huangpu District is the centre of Shanghai now.the Shanghai People’s Government is located in the district .But it wasn’t the centre of Shanghai before 1840. Songjiang District was the centre of Shanghai before 1840. It was established as a county in 751 and upgraded to a prefecture in 1277. In Ming Dynasty, there was a proverb, it said:”Suzhou Prefecture and Songjiang Prefecture have more than a half taxable income collected in China.” But Minhang District also has a long history. In 1959, an important prehistory relics had been found. In 1982, it was named “Maqiao Culture”.specialists said the relics had a history of 3500 years at least. Huangdaopo ,a great woman in Yuan Dynasty ,who improved the cotton textile industry, was born in the district. But ,Whatever, absolutely,Pudong New District is the youngest district in Shanghai. In 1990, the State Council made a decision to develop the area of east bank of Huangpu River. Before long, In the second half of that year, Waigaoqiao Free Trade Zone,Lujiazui Financial and Trade Zone and Jinqiao Export Processing Zone were established. In 1992, Zhangjiang Hi-tech Park was established. Finally, in 1993, the People’s Government of Pudong New District has been established.The district has made a great progress and development since 1990’s. Chongming County is a special area. Because it’s an island. Chongming island is the Third-largest island in China and it’s located in the estuary of Yangtze River. There are some nationalized farms in the island. The passengers had to go there by ship before 2009, in 2009, Shanghai Yangtze River Bridge had been builded and the passenger can go there by bus or car. That was an important incident in China. In the Modern Chinese History, there were plenty of important historical incidents was happened in Shanghai. In the First Opium War, which was happened between 1840 and 1842, General Chenhuacheng lost his life in a fierce battle. Certainly, he was a national hero. So there is a memorial hall of him in Baoshan District. In 1921, the Communist Party of China had been founded in Shanghai .On April 12th,1927, Chiang Kai-shek ordered his army to massacre the Communist Party members.Before long, he established his government in Nanjing. On January 28th, 1932, Japanese army raided Chinese army, it was named Shanghai incident of 28th, 1932. In 1949, the People’s Liberation Army occupied Shanghai and Shanghai People’s government had been established.

Certainly, Shanghai is also an international and modern metropolis. It has two international airpots:Pudong Airpot and Hongqiao Airpot. Four railway stations: Shanghai Railway Station, Shanghai South Railway Station, Shanghai West Railway Station and Hongqiao High-railway Station. A big steel company: Baosteel . 14 metro lines have been builded since 1990’s and some new metro lines will be builded in the near future. Some specialists said that Shanghai needed 20 metro lines at least. There are some big business centre in Shanghai. East Nanjing Road is very famous as a pedestrian street. Huaihai Road is a long street and has some historical building. The tomb of Songqingling and Shanghai Library are located in the street. Xujiahui is also a big business centre and has a Catholic Church. Jing’an Temple is small but very famous and popular. It’s surrounded by plenty of stores. The same to the Zhongshan Park. The people who live in Shanghai are lucky. Nobody can believe that it is a piece of news to get married with a foreigner. You can see lots of foreigners in Shanghai everyday . I love Shanghai very much. But nothing is perfect. One day, I had my lunch with a friend in a restaurant. He told me that he slept terribly last night. “Why?” I asked. “My neighbor remodels his apartment at six o’clock every morning!” He answered. ” Do you have a gun?” I said. ” Gun? Why?” ” Yes! A TRIP TO NANJING FOR HOLIDAY

Hello,everyone: Nice to meet everybody here! What can I talk about tonight! A word, traveling! I love traveling very much. I have gone to a few cities in my country. For example,Beijing ,Hangzhou,Qingdao~~ All of the them are famous for the beauty spots.But I haven't got a passport for go overseas yet! Last week,I went to Nanjing for holiday.I went there by train on 31st May. That was my second traveling in Nanjing. It has a long history and is also famous for the beauty spots. I arrived in Nanjing at about 1:00 pm. At first,I visited Mochou Lake(in Chinese is 莫愁湖), in Chinese,Mochou means "don't worry! don't be sad!"It was a name of a woman,who has been dead for about 1450 years. Maybe she was beautiful and kindhearted. But it was just a legend. I don't care! I must tell you that the lake is very small but beautiful! There were plenty of lotus leaves in the lake that day. They looked very nice. The lake was full of green plants.I got an eyeful and felt very well.There is a temple near of the bank of the lake.but there's any mock or non in it. So it looked quite and peaceful. I liked that very much. When I finished the visiting of the lake,I decided to check in a hostel which I booked a room before.When I arrived at the hostel,some kindhearted people stayed in it advised me to have a look near of the temple of Confucius, but I didn't go there. There are thousands of people go over there everyday . And there are plenty of stores around the temple. They often eat local foods,talk to each other loudly in the street,drink beer in the bar,or go shopping~~ It must be noisy! I don't like that at all! So I still stayed in the hostel all the night long and went to bed early! So I can also get up early on next day. Then, I opened my phone and received a message from a friend :"Happy Children's Day!" "Aha! It is 1st June today!"I said to myself. But I knew I wasn't a kid and I had forgotten that I was a child many years ago. I laughed at myself. Certainly!, that was just an episode in the journey. I visited the Tomb of Mingxiaoling ,which is the tomb of Zhuyuanzhang,who was the first emperor of the Ming Dynasty. He was born in 1328 and dead in 1398. He established the dynasty in 1368. It rained cats and dogs in that morning. It was terrible for some tourists but wasn't a nuisance for me. "If you lose something, you can get something else. "I thought. Yes! I was right! The tomb looked very nice in the rain. The pitter-patter sounded very beautiful ,it just liked a sobbing of a little lovely girl! I closed my eyes and listened to it carefully for a moment. I finished the visiting with my smile. The rain stopped at noon. After the lunchtime ,I visited the tomb of Dr Sun Yat-Sen,who was the first president and founding father of the Republic of China. He was born in 1866 and dead on 12th March,1925.He was a great man in that era. There are thousands of people go over there for visiting the tomb and paying homage. After the visiting, I went back to the hostel and had my supper. Then,I met some foreigners stayed in the hostel and talked to each other.one of them was a German. His father was a German but his mother was a French. He said he was 24 years old and lived in Berlin with his parents. He was starting to learn Chinese. Actually,His Chinese was very poor as same as my English. He told me that he wasn't good at French. I was surprised. "Daily conversation! Not terrible! Better than my Chinese!"He said embarrassedly. I was amused. Then, he told me that he met his girlfriend in Taiwan at the first time .I was curious to know the loving story. But it was his personal problem . After meeting, I went to bed and had a good sleep! I also got up early on 2nd June. In the tradition Chinese calendar ,it was 5th,May that day.Do you know? It was the Dragon Boat Festival that day! It is very grand in my country every year.Actually, that was why I had the journey to Nanjing. And I had sent some pleasant to my mother before the festival. I visited Nanjing Museum in the morning. By the way, you should know how long the history of Nanjing is.After the lunchtime ,I caught a train to Shanghai and return to my company. The journey was finished.
