My Wanda is a combination of the MCU and some comics. So she’s not the MCU Wanda. I have yet to fully write her backstory but I’m working on it.

“Okay it could be much worse. Remember the year Emma made Remy that shirtless outfit for the Hellfire Gala?” Wanda cringes.

She cracks up at that. “You know what. I fully believe that would inspire fear too. I can just hear them now. “Isn’t that the crazy witch with the reality bending powers? The one who was an avenger for a bit? She’s Magneto’s kid?”” Wanda speaks for the imaginary person in a very bad Scottish accent.

She settles down as she feels his mood shift and focuses on the picture. She accepts it from him. Her chipped black nail polish frames the picture as she holds it reverently, delicately in her hands.

“She… she was beautiful.” Wanda whispers.

Erik's lips twitched at Wanda's terrible accent.

"I do recall and it was certainly a choice." He shook his head in mock disapproval. "I believe you are correct in saying would still inspire fear though I suspect your impression would frighten them more than your powers ever could."

The teasing lingered only a moment before his attention returned to the photograph cradled carefully in her hands.

Erik watched Wanda study the photograph rather than the photograph itself. Somehow, seeing it through her eyes made it feel new again.

A soft smile touched his lips. "She would have argued with you for saying so." There was warmth in his voice. "She insisted she was entirely ordinary." His thumb absently brushed the empty sleeve in his wallet where the picture had rested.

"She would have adored you." There wasn't a hint of doubt in his voice. "And not just because you were her child." A gentle smile crossed his face.

"No, she would have loved that you laugh with your whole heart, that you argue when you think someone or something is wrong, because you love people more deeply than is sometimes wise."

He paused before adding with quiet amusement, "And because, despite all evidence to the contrary, you somehow still believe there is good left in the world."

His eyes fell once more to the photograph. "I think..." he said softly, "...that would have been her favorite thing about you."

“He wants attention. He’s like a feral Tom cat in a lot of ways…” Wanda muses rolling her eyes. “A bit like Pietro in that way hmm?” She immediately cringes upon thinking of her brother in that outfit and regrets getting out of bed today.

She shakes her head as if to clear it like an etch-a-sketch.

Wanda gives him a little elbow to the ribs for mocking her accent. It’s playful.

Then she settles, looking at the picture again.

“Anyone with the powers I have would want to have a bit of ordinary…” she whispers longingly.

“When has there ever been wisdom in love papa?” She glances over at him arching a brow.

“There is. There is the good we make. They may hate and fear us. But the only thing we can control is our own actions. We can make them see the good… most of them… some of them anyways.” She allows.

“There’s good in you yet too.” She says. As if reading his mind. “Despite it all. You want peace. So we’ll fight for it. Anything good is always worth fighting for.” The look in her eyes is determined.

Erik let out an amused hum. "A feral tomcat?" He considered it for a moment before nodding. "An apt description."

The mention of Pietro earned a sigh that was equal parts exasperation and affection. "Your brother has spent his entire life believing the universe is his audience." He smirked. "And I have indulged him, but if he ever tried to leave this house dressed like that, I would have reminded him that even if he is an adult he is still my child and will dress accordingly"

He rubbed his side dramatically where Wanda had elbowed him. "Oh, so violence against your elderly father is acceptable now?" His expression softened again as she spoke of ordinary. "No," he said quietly. "It isn't."

His gaze drifted toward the window. "Ordinary is a luxury people like us seldom receive." He looked back at her.

Then she spoke of goodness.

Of peace...

Of him...

And Erik was silent for a long while. "I have done things I cannot undo," he admitted at last. "Things I believed were necessary." He didn't look away from her.

"But every choice I have made—right or wrong—was born from the hope that one day my children might live in a world where they did not have to make those same choices."

A faint smile tugged at the corner of his mouth. "You sound more like your mother every time you speak." He reached over and gently wrapped her hands over the photograph with his, "Keep this close to your heart, Wanda. For those moments when you need a reminder of who is always watching over you."

He gave another pause, bofore his smile brightened, deliberately steering the conversation somewhere lighter.

"Now then." He rose from the couch and offered her his hand with exaggerated formality. A playful glint appeared in his eyes. "Would my daughter permit her father to take her to dinner?"

He gave a small shrug. "Somewhere with linen tablecloths, food neither of us can pronounce correctly, and wine expensive enough that Charles would spend the next month complaining about the bill."

“Papa. I can hear some of his thoughts. When he slows down…It’s more than apt…” she scrunches up her face. “Be glad you are not a telepath. Be very glad…”

“Oh so you can dish it out but you can’t take it old man?~” she teases.

“I know… and in a strange way. I feel I understand. I dream sometimes of mutant children running free somewhere. No fear of bigoted idiots. Or villagers with torches and pitchforks.” She says softly.

Children with super speed or her magic but slightly different. Boys usually.

He tells her to keep the photograph.

“Really?” She can feel tears welling up and moves quickly to peck his cheek. “Thank you papa. Thank you.” She sniffs.

She chuckles at his melodrama. That was Erik. Always dramatic. She mocks thinking over his request.

“She might be persuaded if we get something chocolaty for dessert…” she muses. Before smiling at him and accepting his hand, as she tucks the picture of her mother into her inner jacket pocket near her heart.

“He’s… not human and he’s not a mutant… he’s a Synthezoid. A highly advanced android. And I’m in love with him.”

Erik was silent for a moment, his expression unreadable. Of all the things he had expected her to say, that had not been among them.

"Uh..hu, soooo he's a machine. And ummm, you love him."

His brow furrowed, and for a moment he looked less like Magneto and more like a father trying to understand something entirely foreign to him. He leaned back, studying her face.

"Does this highly advanced android have a name?" A faint smile tugged at the corner of his mouth. "And what kind of metal is he made out of?"

“He’s… more than a machine. And yes. I do… more every day…” It was strange. Even she could admit that. But in a world full of monsters and magic and aliens. Surely this was not the strangest thing.

“Vision. His name is Vision. He’s made of Vibranium and he can feel pain. So if you injure him in any way I will be very upset.” She arches a brow at him as if challenging him.

“Papa…He… knows what it’s like to be seen as less than human. As something …other… and he saved my life.” She waves her hands around talking with them as she speaks.

She sighs then chuckles. “I probably should have led with that hmm?”

"Mm." Erik nodded slowly. "Yes, I imagine leading with the part where he saved my daughter's life would have spared you some dramatic hand waving."

He reached out, gently brushing a stray lock of hair behind her ear, a rare tenderness crossing his features.

"I have spent my life fighting for our kind, Wanda. I have watched hatred take many forms." He exhaled softly through his nose. "But love… love has never cared much for the boundaries we try to place upon it."

He folded his hands together.

"I confess, the idea of my daughter being enamored with an android is not something I ever imagined that I would have to discuss."

His eyes narrowed slightly.

"Tell me this, Mein Herz. Does he treat you with kindness? Does he protect you? Does he make you happy?"

“Dramatic hand waving is sort of my thing.” Wanda sasses. She smiles at him.

She laughs a bit. “Me either. And it’s very new. I haven’t even told him yet. But. I figured I should try and get you used to the idea early. As it is strange… even for us.”

“He’s the kindest being I’ve ever known. He doesn’t understand hatred. But he won’t put up with it. We’ve had many a theological discussion about such things. And yes. He makes me very happy.” Wanda admits.

Erik fell silent as she spoke of Vision's kindness, his gaze watching her thoughtfully.

"A being who does not understand hatred, is a rare gift," Erik mused quietly. "Or perhaps blissful innocence."

He looked back to her.

Her final admission brought another smile to his face—small, genuine, and unmistakably paternal.

"He makes you happy." Not a question. A simple observation.

He shook his head with a soft laugh. "You know, when I found out that you were my child, I thought of the many milestones I had missed. Your first words, your first steps, even your first terrorist attack." His expression grew fond.

"So you can imagine how happy I am to be here for this. And if this Vision fellow intends to become a permanent fixture in your life, I do expect him to sit down with me."

The ghost of amusement crossed his features.

"And know this, if this Vision breaks your heart, I will spend the remainder of his unnatural existence demonstrating why your father has been called many things…but merciful has never been one of them."

“A bit of both I would say…” Wanda remarks taking a seat on the couch. “After all he was ‘born’ rather recently.”

“My first?! Papa! Lagos was an accident and you know it!” Her eyes glow red as she uses her powers to bean him in the head with a throw pillow.

She huffs.

“If he breaks my heart you will never find out…” her eyes twinkle.

“But it is nice… to have a parent to talk to about this.” She admits.

The pillow struck Erik squarely in the face, before it slid down into his lap. He blinked once, then slowly picked it up from his lap, staring at it with the same expression one might reserve for an especially insolent chess opponent.

"Really Wanda, aren't you a little old for such childish behaviors?"

A smile tugged at his lips before he tossed the pillow back at her.

"And for the record I was not speaking of Lagos." His voice lost its teasing edge, becoming quieter. "I know exactly what happened there, Wanda. You made an impossible choice with only seconds to act. Had the Avengers had owned up to their collected mistakes instead of looking for someone to blame afterward..." He shook his head as he calmed his temper. "It was a convenience to place the burden on you. But that is not a conversation for this happy moment"

His gaze settled on her.

"I was speaking of Ultron."

A faint, self-deprecating smile crossed his face. Her next comment earned a raised eyebrow.

"'You will never find out,' she says." He chuckled as he took a seat next to her, he leaned back, crossing one leg over the other.

"Wanda, my dear, if your heart were broken I would know before you spoke a single word. You wear your emotions in face just as your mother did."

His expression softened when she admitted it was nice to have a parent to talk to. For a moment, Magneto disappeared entirely. Erik reached over, resting a hand gently atop hers.

"And I swear to remain here, to be a father who will embarrass you, who will offer unwanted advice, and who pretends to approve of your choices while quietly investigating every young man or synthezoid foolish enough to fall in love with you."

He smiled warmly.

“Aren’t you a little too old to wear a sleeveless shirt with a giant M plastered across it?” She fires back playfully.

“Or perhaps you are so old you must monogram your clothing to remember your made up name…” her nose scrunches up, eyes twinkling.

Then her face falls.

Ultron.

Ultron who had promised her the world for her service.

Ultron who was animated by the very stone that had awoken her powers. Her feelings towards him had been complicated.

They still were now that she loved Vision. That gem and her had a connection that even she didn’t understand the full extent of.

Her mind is called back to Erik as he speaks of her mother. “I wish I could remember her. Sometimes I feel like I’m close to doing so. When I use my gifts. But it’s like… the memory of a smell. A feeling of sadness… an ache that has been my constant companion.”

As he promises her this she smiles back at him and moves to rest her head on his shoulder.

“And I will always be your daughter. Even if I occasionally fail to understand the lengths you go to for your just cause.” She replies.

Wanda was in the kitchen. Baking. The fragrant smell of cinnamon rolls filled the air. Her father was out on a mission with everyone else to her knowledge.

She wasn’t ready. Not yet. It had been hard adjusting to this new universe. But she felt she was healing a bit at least.

“Some people say a man is made out of mud…” she sang pulling out one of the trays of baked goodies.

“A poor man’s made out of muscle and blood. Muscle and blood and skin and bones-“she continues melodically. Startling as she heard someone enter the room. Her free had glowing red. As well as her eyes.

She looked over the man. He didn’t seem to be a threat yet. Searching the shallowest parts of his mind showed no outright hostility to her. Merely curiosity and a bit of distrust.

“Oh!… sorry did my singing bother you? Erik said I would be alone today.” Wanda smiles a bit. Her eyes returning to their normal hue.

“Muscle and blood, skin and bones.” Logan hummed along before she noticed him.

He looks tired, like he didn’t sleep well, so his only reaction is to raise an eyebrow. “Erik, that’s helmet head?” He asked trying to remember the guy’s name. “Sorry, I’m new here.”

“Uh yeah.” Wanda laughs. “Giant purple and red cape and helmet. Can’t miss him.” Her eyes twinkle.

“I’m new too. The only reason I’ve got his name is because he’s apparently my father… he claims to be anyways… it’s… strange.” She sighs. Moving to grab two plates with her powers.

“I’m Wanda by the way. Do you want a cinnamon roll? You look like you could use one.”

And probably a hug. But she wouldn’t offer that to a stranger.

“Was he a theater kid or something? He talks like he’s Shakespeare.” Logan muttered taking a seat at the island counter in the middle of the kitchen.

“Muscle and blood, skin and bones.” Logan hummed along before she noticed him.

He looks tired, like he didn’t sleep well, so his only reaction is to raise an eyebrow. “Erik, that’s helmet head?” He asked trying to remember the guy’s name. “Sorry, I’m new here.”

“Uh yeah.” Wanda laughs. “Giant purple and red cape and helmet. Can’t miss him.” Her eyes twinkle.

“I’m new too. The only reason I’ve got his name is because he’s apparently my father… he claims to be anyways… it’s… strange.” She sighs. Moving to grab two plates with her powers.

“I’m Wanda by the way. Do you want a cinnamon roll? You look like you could use one.”

And probably a hug. But she wouldn’t offer that to a stranger.

“Was he a theater kid or something? He talks like he’s Shakespeare.” Logan muttered taking a seat at the island counter in the middle of the kitchen.

“Thanks, I’ll take one and a strong cup of coffee, black no sugar.” He requested sounding kinda sheepish. “Names Logan…I think. Says so on here.” He added holding up his dog tags.

“You know… it’s probably just the trauma… trauma does weird things to one’s brain. I once talked in a transatlantic accent for a few weeks…” she remarks. Moving to figure out the coffee machine as her powers plate a cinnamon bun for him a move the plate in front of him.

“It’s nice to meet you Logan. So who brought you here? I’m assuming that much like me. You are a stray. Charles seems to enjoy taking in strays.” She muses playfully as she figures out the machine.

“But it’s nice here… peaceful. I keep waiting for the… uh. The other shoe to drop.” That was the American phrase. Right?

“Glad I’m not the only one waiting for it to drop.” He chuckled watching her move things around with her powers. “That all you can do? ‘Cause that’s neat.” He complements.

“And yeah, a kid hitchhiked on my trailer and I couldn’t leave her in the cold. We got ambushed by a couple of not so friendly mutants, laser eyes and Storm saved us and now the kid’s a student?” Logan trailed off, not sure is the kid’s staying or not. “She goes by Rogue, seen her around?”

“All I can do without freaking people out…” Wanda replies. “Or… worse.” She adds in a mumble.

“Rogue. Yes I have. She’s a sweet girl… reminds me of my younger self… but she didn’t have the protection that I did. I’m glad you found her. It’s good for her to be around kids her age… heaven knows that’s the only way I survived…” she starts the coffee brewing, moving to join him and grab her own treat.

“I… had a brother.” Her voice is tight. “A long time ago.”

Logan gives her a sympathetic look. “I’m sorry.” He said, sounding like he knows the pain. Then he looks confused. “How do I know what that pain feels like?”

“Well, your powers are more useful than mine.” Logan sighed. He then made a fist, and slowly extended his claws.

“My only guess would be you don’t want to know. At least not yet. Sometimes not knowing is better.” She gives a sad smile.

“Yes. Useful. Hydra thought so too…” her accent goes very Sokovian for a minute.

She moves to look at his claws. And then his hands. Eyes widening with horror as she realizes he don’t have scars before. “Ouch.”

Wanda was in the kitchen. Baking. The fragrant smell of cinnamon rolls filled the air. Her father was out on a mission with everyone else to her knowledge.

She wasn’t ready. Not yet. It had been hard adjusting to this new universe. But she felt she was healing a bit at least.

“Some people say a man is made out of mud…” she sang pulling out one of the trays of baked goodies.

“A poor man’s made out of muscle and blood. Muscle and blood and skin and bones-“she continues melodically. Startling as she heard someone enter the room. Her free had glowing red. As well as her eyes.

She looked over the man. He didn’t seem to be a threat yet. Searching the shallowest parts of his mind showed no outright hostility to her. Merely curiosity and a bit of distrust.
