I'm not very keen on buying the new MDZS deluxe hardcover edition by sevenseas after seeing the cover art for the 2nd volume.

IMO wangxian should be the main focus of the cover art,not side characters or antagonists. No problem with all the other characters appearing in the interior illustrations, the more the merrier,but remember MDZS it's the wangxian book.

The manhua had one volume entirely about the yi city arc but even then all 13 vols had wangxian on the cover.

I think the whole point of a deluxe edition is to make it so good that ppl want to buy it..After seeing all the covers illustrations and the mess about the 4th vol cover I lost the bit of interest I had on this collection.

The TGCF deluxe edition was so beautiful that made me excited about it .But the MDZS edition is poorly planned and executed. It lacks cohesion.

It isn't so difficult to fit wangxian and the 5 clans theme. Easiest thing to put wangxian art on the jackets and the clans on the hardcover. And there's still the painted edges,the endpapers and the quotes.

I have a lot of questions about their bad design choices.

Looking at the all the books of the SVSSS and TGCF hardcovers I just think the MDZS hardcover edition could've been handled so much better.

The cover art from vol 3 was misprinted,instead of the Yiling Laozu they printed the wangxian art of the vol 3 paperback. Who are the ppl depicted on the back cover? It's the Wen siblings or wwx and jc?

The vol 4 doesn't have foil like all the other volumes. The Lan themed vol 1 and the Jiang themed vol 5 don't have a representative on the painted edge. On vol 1 lwj is minuscule,disappearing at the distance,so the art should depict lwj on foreground instead. Or was it supposed to be wangxian on both vol 1 and vol 5 edges? So a scene with both characters close together would be better.

As I said before IMHO the jackets art should portray wangxian only and the clans theme should be on the hardcovers. But if vol 4 jacket was supposed to have ensemble art like vol 2, it didn't go so well. I'm not criticizing the artist's talent, just the project.

But there's one thing I really liked. It was the endpapers artwork. So beautiful.

I just get a feeling that someone at sevenseas doesn't like MDZS. 😅 This hardcover edition,the errors in the Untamed artbook, the translation errors etc. Like they are careless because they know ppl will buy it anyway.

Chapters 117 and 119: Different versions and fantranslations

There were various types of raws circulating on the internet: first version, revised version, censored and uncensored, in Simplified and in Traditional Chinese.

Note: I don't know how much uncensored content was published on jjwxc or if it was unofficially posted elsewhere and later restored to the text.

I've found 4 fantranslations of Ch 117 when I was researching the different versions.

1st Version and Revised Version: same content, MXTX didn't make any edits in this chapter when revising the novel in 2016.
