Hua Cheng is like if Orpheus refused to take no for an answer, even if it meant walking through hell forever, even if it meant failing to be with him over and over again, it’d be worth it to walk by Xie Lian’s side every single time. Like, there is no universe where he doesn't look back (he loves Xie Lian too much), but also there's no universe where he doesn't go, okay let's go back and get stronger, so looking back won't even matter, and if it does, then that's okay, he’ll keep walking into hell anyway even if it means he only gets to be with Xie Lian for a short while. He'd still do it over and over again.
