Benny’s dad is a severe schizophrenic and struggles with a lot of the same mental health problems he does…it was hereditary. He loves his three kids a lot and took care of them better than Bernice(their mother) did by actually spending time with the kids.
He had a lot of breakdowns though and suffered fits of paranoia, making him lash out on the family in an act of “defense”. Then one day he ran into the woods and was never found. To this day, benny misses him. He left when Benny was about 8-9. They never found him or a body, which is why Benny struggles letting go.
She is a cold hearted woman and definitely didn’t want any kids. She saw a lot of her husband in Benny and it upset her, which is why she’s so cruel towards him. She loves Jasper(her oldest son) the most and saw a lot of success in him, which made Benny really jealous and resent him for that. She argues with Janice(Bennys little sister) more, but isn’t as awful as she is to benny…still bad though. She tried to drown Benny when he was 7 to save him from a life of suffering “like his daddy” and deep down Benny feels this is the nicest thing she’s ever done for him. He still talks to her in his adulthood.
She also is the one who had the vitiligo and passed it down to all three of her children. Also she’s a hillbilly that lives in the middle of nowhere lol
(Older brother: Jasper Kruppt)
Jasper is a kind soul and loves his little brother a lot. He is very successful for his circumstances (terrible brain damage in his late teens) and he sees Benny’s attitude towards him as shyness rather than animosity. He has one son (Kipper) who he says jarringly resembles benny. Jasper loves their mother and talks to her frequently. He doesn’t like talking about their father though since in his eyes(since he was older) he understood the reality of the situation with him. He visits benny often to drop off money sometimes and help out…benny hates it. He also deep down thinks Benny’s problems are frim their dad’s behavior rather than their mother. He doesn’t know about the drowning incident. He’s older than benny by about 4-6 years.

She is a lot like their mother attitude-wise, but hates her. She is more empathetic towards Benny’s issues and fully took time to understand him in her free time. She doesn’t talk to their mother since Benny told her what happened in their adulthood, and benny appreciates that. She visits less often than Jasper, but her visits are better. She rejects a lot of “conservative hillbilly” views they were raised with and promised herself she’d never have children. She is about 8-10 years younger than Benny and never got to know their dad. She wants to be a mental health professional, but works in a bar 90% of her day. Maybe one day she’ll get to it.
He is Benny’s nephew and Jasper’s only son. Benny thinks that he inherited their family curse, but Kipper and Jasper disagree. He’s just quirky and a bit off. He used to be really close with Benny until an incident with “The Wolfman” Benny had no recollection of, which resulted in him hating him afterwards. He says his uncle Benny is a psycho who is gonna kill someone one day and would rather jump into a volcano than be left alone in a room with him. In his adulthood, he makes small attempts at rekindling.
I haven’t drawn him yet, but this is just a small side character that was around in Benny’s life when he was younger. He is Bernice’s brother. Basically just a big fat hillbilly who liked picking on the kids and drinking beer. He died when benny was a teenager.
