TW for corpse(shards), implied death, and implied violence!
Hessonite walks through the halls of the ship, her newly-returned prism floating behind her, along with four jasper guards walking behind her. She had just spoken to the diamonds, and was on her way to speak with Demantoid and Pyrope, two fellow garnets. They had assisted her lustrous self in invading the Rebellion, and staying hidden.
Their orders were simple! Invade. Give the diamonds information. Be discreet about it. But get deep into the workings of the Rebellion. If information can’t be given without being caught, don’t give it, unless it’s absolutely necessary. If the war somehow manages to go wrong for the diamonds, then she is to fix it if possible.
As confident and powerful as the diamonds are, they had to be prepared for the worst. The first time, they hadn’t been as careful as they should have been, and a diamond was shattered for it.
Hessonite was to be the actor, and Pyrope and Demantoid were to be her help. Both had complained about it. Not to the diamonds’ faces, obviously, but there had been arguments. And they’d been constantly “ragging on her,” as the earthlings say.
...Hm.
Perhaps she’d been more influenced by that disgusting planet than she’d thought.
Not that it matters! She’s been granted a promotion! And once they return to Homeworld, she’ll get her own pearl! Ooh, maybe she’ll take Rose’s pearl, if she’s still alive. Just to get the satisfaction of beating her into submission.
She arrives at the room that Pyrope and Demantoid are stationed to be in, and turns back to the guards, a controlled, calm smile on her face, “Stay outside this room until ordered otherwise.”
The guards take position outside the room as guards as she puts her hand on the activation panel. The door slides open, and she walks in, her prism floating behind her.
As always, Pyrope and Demantoid are arguing. Honestly, what did she expect? This! This exact situation is what she expected! She’s so smart!
After a while of boasting, storytelling, and arguing, there’s...a few clanks outside the door. Muffled shouting voices. Each and every one of them gets cut off.
Both Pyrope and Hessonite look at Demantoid. There’s a silent argument between the three, before Demantoid sighs, and exits, to check it out. Her prism follows her.
...Another clank.
Hessonite gives Pyrope a glance. Pyrope glares back, but Hessonite is technically her superior now, so she sighs, and goes.
...Another moment passes.
Another clank.
.................Hessonite draws her sword.
“Prism. With me.”
The door to the chamber slides open.
Shards are scattered along the hallway.
And......the remains of two broken prisms.
She flinches, her grip on her sword tightening. She looks around, and says in a low voice, “Prism, guard m-”
A pink bubble forms around the prism. Spikes appear on the inside of the bubble, and go inwards swiftly. The prism........breaks. Hessonite backs into the chamber, horrified. The door slides shut after her.
Pyrope and Demantoid...her jasper guards...even the prisms... They’re all gone...
And then, the door breaks open.
