Vasher, I'm disappointed, I was hoping to take a class with you next semester to help with my botany drawings... please don't leave over a simple poor choice in the shade of blue @staff picks...(you know how daft they are, right?)

No, not at all dear. I’m leaving because the idiots deleted the best function on the sites, the comment function. Also, it turns out I have two asks that I wasn’t notified about, which is bad because they were time sensitive and the window of opportunity that came with them has passed. The blue is the nail in the coffin though. I look forward to seeing you in my class next semester, dear.

Goodbye, Tumblr

In creating this new update, the @staff has ruined Tumblr. I no longer have any reason to be on this disgustingly blue site, so I will be leaving. I’ll still be teaching, and you can always come talk to me if you need me, but as far as this site is concerned I am dead. Happy Halloween.

You completely missed the point. Just because one noble is like that doesn’t mean all of them are. Look at the Returned. They’re literally created to all follow these specific ideas, but many of them do so in a way that subverts them, such as Lightsong. please, vasher, you never lived in scadrial under the lord ruler. you never have to watch the mistings be hunted to be used as sacrifices for the steel inquisitors. you were never forced to crawl into caves to get atium geodes while the crystals shredded your arms. I frankly don’t care if there some good nobles - vin already convinced me that maybe not all of them are awful, but 95%? the worst of all humans in the cosmere. don’t lecture me about this, vasher, I’m not likely to change anytime soon.

Weren’t both of those problems caused by the Lord Ruler himself? (well him and magic but magic is inevitable) Nobles are nothing like him, they don’t have the power to do anything like that. Now, Returned on the other hand… You’ve learned about the Five Scholars of Nalthis, right?

Never mind, it’s not really relevant to the discussion at hand. Your hate for Straff (and Sadeas, for his bridge crews) is completely justified, but there are about seventeen things wrong with your chosen method of sating that hate. For example: You posted it on the web, if anything happens to them now you’ll take the blame for it. You also generalized nobles, which leads to people intervening and everything becomes a mess.

I think that the optimal solution would have been coming to me, explaining why they need punishment, and then I’d go to Dalinar. If that failed, I’d obviously have contingencies. Not this passive-aggressive squabbling over tumblr.

This Pointless Squabble

You’re constantly bringing up Class as though someone of a higher class is inherently different than someone of a lower. I understand that where you’re from there are slight genetic differences between the classes, but nothing significant. There is one place in the world where the upper class is composed of beings with a “divine right” and that’s Halladren, and the beings with “divine right” are literal pinnacles of perfection. My point is that class changes nothing with regards to a person’s being unless they are in Halladren, and therefore any prejudice against a person based on their “class” is highly biased and illogical, often irrelevant. Ask yourself, “(why) do you really hate this other person?” and see if that changes things.

And I have to add that even in Halladren, the Court of Gods does not -or is not supposed to- use their inherent divinity to take advantage of the people. We have been brought back as Gods and beings of power to do what is right for our people and protect them. That is the reason we were given our power and that is the only thing we are supposed to do with it. So, if you really consider yourselves of a higher class, you should first raise your morals and show through your actions that you deserve to be looked up at. More than anything, you have to love the ones you protect in order to be a leader.

My sincerest apologies for his behavior, sir. I do not believe that Rock meant any harm with his comments, as he can be quite blunt and sometimes reckless with his words. I am going to talk to him about it, and although it is very difficult not to, I ask of you to not take it seriously.

Susebron, you can’t protect him from the ramifications of his actions forever. He’s been pushing the envelope on this issue, and ignored multiple requests from Navani and myself to stop. It’s high time for him to he gets what he gets for his repeated harassment.

It has come to my attention that some people at this university are are so overcome with “thirst” that they are sexually aroused by magic, at an age where they should really be more proper. It’s probably sacrilegious too, considering that some people worship the source of this specific power. I do not need to hear women moaning in lust over some men flying them through the skies as I walk across campus. I hope none of the students were harmed by this disgusting display, and that subsequent such displays will take place in the bedroom, where they belong.
