I am vocal about still enjoying RCG as their own take, since I got into Kunio through them, but what I do wish it had more was the earnesty of the main series.

Even as early as Tachi-no Banka or RCGZ technically, what convinced me to stick with the series full time was said earnesty. Kunio in particular even at his roughest is such a honestly good, heroic guy and i gravitated towards that so quickly. Like next I learned was the plot of the first arcade game and I knew I love the guy from then on.

Makes me dislike how little his RCG counterpart gets too. Every bio for him is pretty spot on, rightous delinquent who despises bullies and protects the weak, but since he only shows up in the ending (RCG1) or has to read the girls' scripts (RCG2), he never gets to show any of that and maybe counterbalance the more sardonic mood of those games.

I like the american canon, I mean I am a Underground fan and my OTP comes from that, but I wonder if there is a retranslation patch for Downtown Nekketsu Monogatari EX somewhere.

It honestly fascinates me how the Kunio Pachinko had this distinct Hiroshi design.

While I would be over the moon to see the series branch out more visually, I am a big fan of the visual evolutions the DNM style sprites have taken.

The Saga games in particular I love the level of detail and say, Kunio and Riki actually having their proper hair colors.

This has to be the single strangest game in the franchise.

I did like quite a bit about it, especially the base concept of having a Reihō student as the protagonist, meaning characters like Ryūichi, Ryūji and Tōdō get to appear in supporting roles, rather than antagonistic.

The heavy sci-fi theme is just such a choice, it's so alien for this series, where the more supernatural stuff like Yamada's powers, Blair and D.B. Maou feel more like self-contained exceptions, not the rule.

There is an interesting recurring trend of Toad and Daisy being shown together as good friends. Even as recent as Tennis Fever we see him by her bedside when she is sick.

I find that amazingly cute and hope it keeps sticking around.

Nekketsu Kōkō Online: Yamada no Fukushū made Kazaoka look completely unhinged and I honestly vibe with it a lot.

Looking into the Sharp X68000 port of Downtown Nekketsu Monogatari and I am very charmed by these unique dialogue portraits, accompanied by voice acting.

Also Mami looks like a goober and I'm here for it~

The open jacket is my prefered look for Kunio.

I just like the way the red shirt (or sweater in RCG's case) compliments the white uniform and it just looks cool.

I still think of these a lot.

Not claiming canon, but I do find that interpretation very satisfying, especially with Puzzle Pop with it's ArleSigAmi finale being followed up by Fia.

In general it gives me a lot of fuel since I really dearly want more exploration of the existing cast and their dynamics, in high stress situations, so Arle doing what she can, so Amitie has a opportunity to give Sig the strength to fight off the demon and free himself, would be for me even if I didn't have such an adoration for the idea of the three together.
