Dak'Art, The Dakar Biennial has been a platform for contemporary art with roots in Africa since the early 90s. It features artists from all over the African continent and diaspora countries and takes place once every 2 years. Itâs objective is to promote African artists and for the continent to develop a voice on the aesthetics it wants to set forth for the world to see. If anyone has the chance to visit Dakar from now until June 2nd this would seriously be worth every penny and if anyone feels like buying me a ticket to see it I am accepting all donations. This is an image of a prayer room transformed into an incredible exhibition. đđŸđđš #dakart2016 #dakarlives #dakart
Madame Ngone caught my eye as I watched her catch fresh sea urchin in the ocean. When I first approached her for a photo, she looked me dead in the eye and said âNON!â. But I didnât give up. I shadowed her, asked questions about her life, her family, and told her a bit about myself. It wasnât until I showed her some of my work that she let her guard down and agreed to have her photo taken. She then began to pose for me; we laughed together and cracked jokes. Not long after, she smiled slyly at me and then told me to go get my money because I now owed her 1500 CFA ($3). As much as she liked me and my photos, her time wasnât free. After all, she is a business woman.

Without any hesitation I will say visit Yoff Beach for unique landscapes, the sea mist, the shimmering colours of the fishing boats and for the beautiful black and white contrasted pictures you can take during the sunset. Visit Kayar beach on the Western Coast: this place is unique. Something happens when you are there. I cannot tell you what. The fishing boats are huge, the sand is hot and fine and the sea offers impressive waves to surfers. And finally, I would recommend the inescapable Goree Island. If you can, do not hesitate to discover St Louis, Joal, Saloum Islands or Saly that also offer many possibilities of unforgettable experiences. read more
