this is the scripture that comes to mind whenever i slip into that “what if i did this differently” or "i fell short in that moment" spiral. because when Jesus uses the word if, it's a real, biblical example of perfect knowledge meeting human freedom. He's not forcing a specific outcome, but revealing what would have happened if circumstances had been different.

and if middle knowledge is true, it’s comforting to think that God designed this world fully understanding how we would freely respond in different situations. He knows our hearts, patterns, and inclinations in the same way Jesus knew in scripture that tyre and sidon would have repented if they had seen the same miracles.
