controversial take but i seriously don’t like it when artists draw fictional characters without their scars to show/prove how “hot” said characters are.

first of all, it erases the character’s backstory and all of their hardships they went through. how maybe some of them finally came to accept how they look and be confident in their appearance.

second, it’s honestly insulting to think that people without their scars/birthmarks/burns etc aren’t seen as attractive. as if they aren’t already reminded by society and their unrealistic beauty standards, they have to see it in fanarts too?

shoto, dabi, shigaraki and so many other characters fell victim to this and it really makes me sad that it’s a popular thing on tiktok.

honestly… let yourself change your mind. F/O that character and then remove them from your list a week later when you’ve focused on something new. add them again in a month if you miss them. write that you met them at a coffee shop and then change it to a blind date when you think you like that better. draw your first kiss 20 times. let it be different each time. your ship name can change depending on the day. so can your song. give your S/I every special ability and then decide you don’t like any of them. try out a dozen different faces for your OC. there’s nothing wrong with changing your mind over and over and over again. self inserting is for you. self shipping is for you. creating OCs is for you. try it all out and don’t get down on yourself for being indecisive. you don’t have to be decisive. you don’t owe it to anyone to be the same person you were a month ago, a week ago, a day ago, an hour ago, and your stories don’t have to be the same either. let your heart take you where it wants to go.
