Cybil scowled, turning abruptly when she felt a presence behind her. "Why are you following me?"
"That is not our job, it is the job of the commander." Beatrix spoke, her voice monotonous as it seemed something she had been saying a lot. But Beatrix wanted to do something just as much as the other Grounders did, only she knew it wasnāt her place to say anything. "Our time will come, and then we may have our fun with them." She spoke with a smirk upon her lips.
Cybil knew she was right. That doesn't mean that she was going to like that fact. "Then what are we supposed to do while we wait? Sit around and stare at each other?"Ā
"As I thought." Beatrix took a step or two, a faint smile upon her face, "Oh, we do? And what exactly is that?ā
"I'm sure." Cybil sneered, shaking her head. "We must figure out what we are to do about the Sky People. They are on our land. They are a threat."
"If you enjoy petty squabbles, I can take you to where the children play."
"Please. We do not have the time." Looking around, she slung her bow around her back. "We have a job to do."
You shouldn't be here.
Lexa narrowed her eyes on the other woman. Unlike the others whoād expressed the same thought, Lexa was sure Cybil meant it with good intentions. āDo you believe they mean us harm?ā
"I don't know. But it's better to be wary than to be not." She didn't like things that she knew nothing of. She felt vulnerable, exposed. Weak.
You shouldn't be here.
"So Iāve heard. So far Iāve heard of no trouble with them other than they continue to come into our woods. Gustus and I are discussing the possibility of going to meet with their leaders."
Cybil frowned. "Are you sure that's the right thing to do?"
"I only put things in my mouth if I know where theyāve been."
"Not what I've heard."
You shouldn't be here.
Lexa shrugged. āI donāt care. That just means theyāll have to learn the hard way.ā
Cybil sighed. She was used to Lea's personality by now. Since Cassia died, she'd been the same way. Cold. Calculating. Fierce. "Our people have come into contact with the Sky People."
You shouldn't be here.
"This is not a safe place for the inexperienced. You should return home."
"You shouldn't tease, Commander. People will never take you seriously."Ā
"You can eat that if you wish, but I will not tell you what it will do to your body afterwards."
"Careful. Some might slip in your meal tonight."
With a shaky breath she tried to calm herself to speak reasonably. She was beyond frustrated with the amount of people who had been discrediting her. āYou act as if I have not been taught these things already. I have lost both my mother and father to the unknown, and although I am young I am not stupid. Too many people have cast me off already, assuming me to be some sort of fool, but I am not, and it is growing tiring.ā
Cybil smirked, picking up the rabbits and sling it over her shoulder, onto her back. Looking around, she looked for other animals to prey on. "You are a fool, if you have not learned from yours and others mistakes. Ignorance is not bliss."
"So?" she asked, "Why does different always have to be a bad thing?" The girl brushed a strand of hair out of her face, letting out huff of air.
Cybil huffed in annoyance, shaking her head as she made her eway towards the fallen animal. "You are a child. Too young to understand the dangers Ā that come with things you know nothing of."
Gaia could admit she was being a little loud today, so she understood how it could annoy Cybil.ā Iām sorry I did not mean to be so loud. I will try to soften my steps as we go farther in.ā She apologized, she didnāt mean to be load it just send her feet found every twig to break or leaf to crunch today.
Cybil nodded and tightened her hold around her bow, looking around for any sort of animal that she could kill. They were getting low on food, and since winter was approaching, they needed to stock up. "Keep your eyes open for prey."
Pandora looked towards the ground, her breath catching as the woman scolded her. She muttered an apology, fiddling her fingers together in embarrassment. āTheyāre not so bad, you know.ā
Cybil shook her head, looking around as she raised her bow towards a rabbit a few hundred feet away. Letting the arrow go, it went right through the animal, killing it instantly.. "They are not like us, Pandora. You better tread lightly."
Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā After the fog, Jaxon went back to the village, not sure how to react. He had finally met a Sky Person, and the fact he escaped killed him a little bit inside. The fact is that he still hated all of them, and considered them more of an enemy than ever. āModi li ⦠mwen te echwe" he spoke ā¦
Ā Ā Ā Cybil sat down next to Jaxon, looking at him expectantly. Lots of their tribe had met one or even more of the Sky People. She could just guess that that was what had got this certain grounder in such a state. "Ki sa ki te te resevwa ou pou desann, Jaxon?" She asked, raising an eyebrow in his direction.Ā
Cybil growled, turning to her companion. As she spoke, it was in her native tongue, and her voice was harsh in the quiet forest around them. "Could you be quiet?" She asked, snarling. "You sound just like the Sky People. Loud, while they stomp their feet around like dumb animals."
But I got my fingers laced together, and I made a little prison And Iām locking up everyone who ever laid a Ā f i n g e r Ā o n Ā m e
