I'm just curious as to why you believe Washed Up will last? I have seen some of the admins in an admin role on multiple sites in the past several months before stepping down to move onto new projects. What's different from before? The site is SO beautiful but I'm worried about joining and having the same stuff happen again. I read the about us, but are you saying that the other sites were the anomaly and THIS is the one where all admins are friends?

hey there — you’re right, a few of us have floated around on a site or two, and i can’t speak for all of us, but i’m 99% sure most of us were applying to staff searches for the past few sites we’ve staffed on. in fact, i’d be willing to put money on it. the downfall with staff searches is that there often is a. too many (unfamiliar) cooks in the kitchen and b. you can never tell how people are going to get along / if they’re gunning for the same end goal. that doesn’t mean the people we’ve staffed with are bad people or that we don’t like them, though.

i’m speaking from personal experience at this point as sort of the “head admin” here at washed up! (this is sunny, if you haven’t guessed by now lol) i have been lucky enough to form a staff team consisting of people i’ve known for months and am familiar with staffing with (most of them at different times), and i can say with absolutely certainty that washed up! has been nothing but a pleasant experience. you guys just met our site, but we’ve been working together on this since june — and this is the first site i’ve ever been on where the admins haven’t had a single disagreement that couldn’t be compromised painlessly. bria, esme, kt, jem, emily, liv, and megan are some of the most wonderful, hardworking, flexible, and patient people i’ve ever worked with both on a rp staff and in real life, and i am incredibly thankful for that.

i can’t promise you that i can say the right thing to make you feel better about your choice whether or not to join our site — that’s something that ultimately is up to you. what i can say is we’ve been working too damn long and we’re too damn happy to let this be another failed site, at least not in a month (no shade though.) i understand that the real life roleplay community is incredibly fickle and unpredictable — most sites struggle to stay alive for more than a few weeks, let alone a few months. but the eight of us have dedicated ourselves to make sure wu! is an experience that makes everyone wanna stick around. we’re here til the end, folks.

so the answer to your question — what’s different than before? we’re here because we want to be. we’re here because we’re happy. we’re here for the long run. we don’t wanna be just another washed up site.
