i'm trying to make sense of the plot in my head; I just have a little question for it! is it technically set in an post apocalypse?

I’m sorry if it’s confusing! I’ve been meaning to rewrite it for quite some time to make it easier to understand. No it’s not post apocalypse. Wasteland was hidden from the world and shares their land with blots- however they arent in any sort of apocalypse. If you’re familiar with the Epic Mickey games, it’s essentially like that! Blots are just part of their every day living, and they are still functioning living on their own hidden from the world.

I would love to see any of them! However im biased towards the Oswald and Ortensia kids~ since we dont have any at the moment and I think it would be so cool to see the native wastelanders interact with the royals!

Welcome to our first event! Across the Kingdom theres a surprise listed with each location. Please pick the spot location you want and reply to this post with it! (only one pick for each person, so please pick a location that’s not taken!) We will reserve it for you! From then- please write a self para (or you can make a thread with someone!) of your character finding and discovering the secret surprise. The event blog will then reblog your post and reveal what you’ve picked! Be sure to tag the blog @yensidtower so we can keep track!

SCAVENGER HUNT

MEAN STREET ONE. After the disappearance of a woman who ran a mysterious vendor booth, it seems that blots have set their sights on whatever her items were and have invaded the space. Experienced Wastelanders are easily able to take out the blots disturbing their area. Taking out a blot they drop a mysterious velvet box- the box feels light in hand, yet has a strange rotten smell inside...

OSTOWN ONE. Near the Oswald household is a wide, diverse and beautiful garden- yet from afar it seems as there’s something different to it. As you approach, you can see something glowing in the distance, something that stands out to the rest of the flowers... Claimed by Juliet Heart

OSTOWN TWO. Outside of your temporary housing lays a white box with black stains, there seems to be a whimpering coming from inside as the box moves around, begging to be opened and whatever inside to be released. Bending down to open- you’re greeted with a sight like no other...

DARK BEAUTY CASTLE ONE. Roaming the castle itself is a bit of a chore, dodging all the blots that roam the halls and are out to attack and latch onto anything that moves. If you were able to escape the blots, you find yourself hiding in a mysterious room, one where a blot seems to be admiring itself with the mysterious item, Once they see you- they scramble and leave the item on the vanity, you approach to see what they were so interested in... GREMLIN VILLAGE. If you’re lucky enough to convince a Gremlin to take you on a boat ride, you’ll be driven across the small village, seeing all the sights to see until the boat randomly decides to break down. You step off at a nearby dock and happen to catch something out of the corner of your eye hanging off a tree...

RAINBOW CAVERNS ONE.  Exploring the beautiful yet mysterious caverns has a lot of things yet to be discovered, however what catches your eye seems to be a soft twinkling in the distance, as you grow closer- the twinkling grows louder and you see a glowing bottle in the corner... FORT WASTELAND ONE. Visiting the boardwalk, you happened to peak inside the cabin that none of the Wastelanders seem to be paying attention too. Roaming inside the cabin, you happen to spot a golden item handing on the wall that’s stinks of salt water and dripping with ink- a closer look tells you exactly what it is... Claimed by Hansung Cha

Visiting the board walk and walking across the white sand beaches, there doesn't seem to be a blot in sight, however as you keep walking- you’ll find a lone blot on the side of the shore that seems to be chewing on something glowing, chasing off or destroying the blot, they drop a glowing object for you to see...

LONESOME MANOR. Deep in the haunted house, if the ghosts that jump out just for fun to scare you and the blots who charge at you on sight doesn't scare or run you off, you’ll find yourself in the giant library. A ghost in the shape of a mouse will appear, and guides you to follow them to a dusty and large art box... Claimed by Rosette Moors

Biography:

Ruby may have shared the fair looks he had with his Mother, but the similarities in dark black hair and ruby lips ended there. Nothing about the Prince was innocent, dainty, or very gentle- he was rowdy, thrill seeking and not proper in the way you would expect a Prince to be. He believed all the traditional monarchy things to be absolutely pointless, and did his own thing. It was never an issue of purposely rebelling against his parents to prove a point- none of those vindictive thoughts ever crossed his mind. If anything he did hurt his parents or his Kingdom’s reputation- that was never his intention, but it would never stop him from being himself. Ruby was unapologetically him, and he would never change for anyone.

His interests were never the typical sort of luxury that most royals are naturally drawn too, he was always one that drifted away from things that were considered ‘better’ simply because of the price or presentation. In today’s times, he would be the one constantly running to the run down hole in the wall places- curious about everything and wanting to try it. Things considered out of the norm to what he grew up with is always what caught and kept his attention. He can be described as the boy next door or the one that got away, his personality so bright and free- one night with him would surely be a memory one would remember forever.

 While one may look at Wasteland and be traumatized by the experience of being kidnapped and dropped in a foreign world that only knew in Fairy Tales...Ruby was only the opposite. Even if he simply doesn't realize the extent of what’s going on, he looks at the situation with the glass half full. Looking at the chance to explore the world he only knew in his Fairy tales as a chance that shouldn't be missed. He would explore every inch of the land, talk to everyone he knew and truly make it an experience. After all, if hes going to be kidnapped- why not make it fun and worthwhile? Life was too short in his opinion to be sulking. Even if there was murderous blots chasing him around.

Biography:

girl meets boy, girl falls in love with boy, girl and boy get married, have a daughter and start a happily family.

she’s heard this story too many times, so many that she can make one up herself, copy and paste the formula over and over until it’s right. it’s pretty to the ears, unrealistic to the mind, but people never like to think about the second part. they really only care about the pretty, and she’s aware of that.

but people like love stories. they like to see it succeed against all odds so that maybe they’ll have a chance at it as well.

so she looks in some kind of disbelief when her parents tell her that it is, in fact, their story. there’s something missing, something not entirely right about the way the pieces fit together. but she’s taught not to question, to listen like a soldier, stand like she’s always been taught ( ‘straight, mei. straighter’ ) as her father goes over rules that are repeated a million times. always the same ones, so she’s never longing for that sort of inner consistency.

“you are a soldier’s daughter and you will not settle for less, understand?”

“yes, sir.”

they love her in the ways that they know how, and that’s through discipline. it’s through perfect greetings and military like upbringings, taken straight from her father’s playbook and brought into the household. it means being up at dawn, eating healthy, always showing respect and always thinking ahead.

the concept of think before you speak is one that’s a little difficult for meiling, but she blames her mother for her rebellious streak. if not her then who?

as soon as she’s born a sword is thrust into tiny, chubby hands, expecting that she would pick it up like her mother and father had.

“your mother was a prodigy,” her father looks sternly at her as he puts on his coat in the morning.

“your mother saved us all,” the emperor says when he visits, without fail and every single time, as if it had the utmost importance.

they expect too much from her, and she just happens to fall short of towering expectations. her swordmanship is wobbly and unbalanced, and her father just shakes his head as he tells her to run the drill again.

her mother is more understanding ( not completely, but she can’t ask for too much in this situation ), and gives her a bow and arrow instead in the hopes that maybe it would be easier for her. and her mother has always had an intuition for these types of things, so it works. arrows fly from her quiver into targets, shooting one by one until it’s empty, silently but triumphantly.

she likes to think she’s getting somewhere. her parents have never liked her girlishness but it’s only because of it that she’s managed to thrive.
