"Good pilgrim, you donât give your hand enough credit. By holding my hand you show polite devotion. After all, pilgrims touch the hands of statues of saints. Holding one palm against another is like a kiss." Grace whispered softly to the boy and smiled slightly while never...
"Yes, pilgrimâthey have lips that theyâre supposed to pray with."
He  dunked his face into the cold water that filled the sink, as he came back from his trip. Pulling back for air, he looked up into the mirror that hung over head. His hair was soaked as he stared in his image, throwing his mask into the unplugged sink.
Out of the corner of his eye, he saw vibrant color. The boy turned quickly around and saw a tank, filled with fishes of all kind. He watched as they swam around in small schools or just themselves.
Grace came out of her bedroom and stopped by the fish tank, the only thing that ever really made her happy and relaxed in this house. She stood there and noticed the intense stare of a stranger, and she couldnât help but be drawn to it. She placed her hand softly upon the glass and just continued to stare into the strangers eyes as the world seemed to slow down.
She stood there for just a few minutes until she heard her mom calling for her to come mingle and dance. Grace slowly pulled herself away from the fish tank and headed down the stairs.
Grasping every color of the fish tank, he soon met eyes with someone on the other side. He stood and watched each other through the tank, bumping right into it as he drew closer to the stranger on the other side. Their eyes locked and moved as the other did. When she suddenly was called away back to the party, Eli followed. Pushed aside by partiers gathering around, he tried making his way to the girl.
She rested aside a large pillar, surrounded and crowded by others. The boy walked up from behind and took the girlâs hand, whispering, âYour hand is like a holy place that my hand is unworthy to visit. If youâre offended by the touch of my hand, my two lips are standing here like blushing pilgrims, ready to make things better with a kiss.â

Holding one palm against another is like a kiss." Grace whispered softly to the boy and smiled slightly while never taking her eyes off of his. He completely captivated her and she was drawn to him in ways she couldn't explain.
The room was standing still as they stood there hand in hand at the bottom of the stairway. She only took her eyes off of his to see if her mom or nurse was coming to find her.
/going back to work tomorrow so replies will take longer sadly
Grace mingled and was quickly introduced to her suitor, he was everything her mom would have picked in a man but not necessarily the type of man she would have picked. She played nice just because causing a scene would get her locked in her chambers for the rest of the night. She politely excused herself by giving the excuse that she had to freshen up.
She made her way gracefully into her bedroom that was about the size of the living and sat in front of her vanity just softly brushing her hair. She spoke softly. âHeâs a nice man but my heart longs for something more, some adventure and passion.â She let out a sigh and just stated at herself in the mirror and thinking on how she could get out of this arrangement.

A single smoke, the last in the carton, he puts him his mouth. Lighting it and inhaling deeply. Thatâs all heâs been doing for the past few days. It was only him alone with his thoughts, until a herd of his friends made their way towards his lonesome spot. They laughed, talked about women, and...
Grace was preparing for this extravagant Capulet ball where she would meet her soon to be husband whether it was what her heart wanted or not. Her mom and nurse searched the house for her and found her in the shower room, they forced her to dress in this angelic costume which symbolized purity and virtue. If anything this grand event was somewhat of a big deal and she wasn't making such a fuss of the night that was ahead of her. She pulled on her outfit, smoothed out her hair and got her mothers approval before making her grand entrance to this fest.

"Sometimes I wish I was pretty and had what every other girl has... A boyfriend. " Grace lets a little tear stream down her face causing her dark black eyeliner to run.
"I donât, Iâm not pushing you anywhere. You just scared me."
"I understand, Iâm sorry."
"Forgiven."
