The way this SENT me into a SPIRAL
âEven the most beautiful scenery is no longer assured of our love after we have lived in it for three months, and some distant coast attracts our avarice: possessions are generally diminished by possession.â
â Friedrich Nietzsche, The Gay Science
âyou wear that a lotâ yes that is because i, a proud owner of a washing machine,
Harry Potter text posts
Iâm gonna propose âI guess you havenât read the silmarillion then :/â as a default response to anyone not understanding a reference to something obscure. even if itâs not remotely Tolkien related. I want to build up a perception that perhaps the sum total of human knowledge is contained in the silmarillion
âyou attract what you fearâ oh my god iâm so scared of men with big brown eyes
okay Jaques đđ why is this so funny
itâs tragic because i didnât include Orlandoâs response, itâs even funnier. get him Orlando. you tell him.
Anon hate is shitty and you shouldnât do it of course but itâs also the funniest and least effective kind of hate
For starters the blogger can just delete and ignore it. And given tumblrâs penchant for eating asks I think it would drive some hate senders a little insane if they keep checking back in wondering if their ask got eaten.
For second the anon ask format guarantees the blogger gets the last word in every time. Even if anon sends a follow up message they will never get the last word. And tumblr for better or for worse seems to run on this currency of âwhoever expressed the last opinion in a post is the one weâre supportingâ
For third, this publishes the hate directly to the bloggerâs own followers, i.e. the people MOST likely to take the bloggerâs side. Home court advantage by design.
I donât get how in fantasy fiction, the women who actually enjoy sewing/embroidering are always painted as the weak, boring, and anti-feminist charactersÂ
Sewing and embroidery take skill, patience, and artistic talent and it was also the ultimate way to ignore the annoying men in your life in past centuriesÂ
If you didnât feel like talking to a man, you just âtook up your sewingâ and heâd have to leave you alone, especially if he needed that shirt mended
Women also got together all the time to sew, weave, embroider but also talk, gossip, assist each otherâs work, and enjoy each otherâs company in peaceÂ
The skill the female character has doesnât have to be sword-fighting for her to be strong, because thereâs strength and power in any skill she hasÂ
Destroy the idea that a womanâs strength is derived from how much she subverts gender norms

Suzanne Collins straight up invented a whole marriage ceremony based around toasting bread on an open fire for your one true love just to then have THE BAKER'S SON LITERALLY BURN BREAD FOR THE GIRL ON FIRE
Absolute legend.
LEGEND.
Can you believe they had the nerve, the gall, the gumption to cut when book Peeta says âYou here to finish me off, sweetheart?â, one of the most iconic lines that established his flirty personality and cute banter with Katniss?? Heâs literally in immense pain, dying from a leg injury, buried under a wall of mud thatâs infecting the wound, and still has the energy to tease her. Not to mention the innuendo, come on.
i genuinely love that the hunger games is in katnissâs pov bc shes the one character that has no clue about whats going on, clearly does not want to be there, and shes just walking through life in a permanent state of utter confusion. and idk i really relate to that.
In the movie version of The Hunger Games, Peeta is all, âI watched you walk home every day. Every day.â In the book, heâs more like, âI checked out every girl. Every girl.âÂ
