It’s been a while since I added a commentary. I often use these characters to show positive behaviors towards depression but the reality is that most people wouldn’t understand enough to ask what she does in panel 3. Most people would just give up, taking the repeated nos as a hint to be taken, and in many cases they would be correct in doing so. But when one has depression, it’s often the case where the illness makes you fade out. You don’t really want to, but depression twists your mind to make you do it anyways. Try explaining this to someone who doesn’t have depression and it makes no sense whatsoever. This is simply Depression Logic.

I had some serious fading out issues, and some of you may know of it if you followed my previous work. I’d try to make a comeback, but I’d have to fade out again, repeat constantly from 2003 to 2011. I haven’t faded out once since I started this comic in 2011 and that’s a personal accomplishment. So let me echo those words in the last panel: “Please don’t give up on me, okay?”
