Spoilers from here on out for those who haven't read or haven't finished reading The Syndicater by Runyx

Well, I finished The Syndicater and found it lacking but at the same time I can understand the author because she wrote it like that, after two years of downtime it's normal to lose the hype of the previous five books.

First of all, I expected a longer book so as to occupy fight scenes, investigations, plot twists that make you scream for mercy and space for each character to be their own protagonist rather than just supports for a chosen couple.

In The Syndicater it feels like a continuation of the story between Shadow Man and Lyla. Everything revolves only around them.

Secondly, everything seems to happen too quickly, as if the author couldn't wait to wash her hands of it. I would have liked more first-person storytelling of the bond between Tristan, Morana and Xander because so far we have always seen them from the point of view of other characters. I would have liked a turning point for Zephyr and Alpha. Instead of the lone Shadow Man fighting the Syndicater, there should be more Amara and Dante as well as a true union of all the characters.

But, as I already said, given the two years of inactivity, it's normal that it's different and even though I expected something else, it was still nice.

Tbh I think she forgot how she pictured the characters when she wrote the first 5 books and wrote the last book with a completely different vibe but it still sucks bcs I was expecting A LOT and I got....

Waiting forever for it to be that underwhelming was not what I expected at all. Honestly felt a bit betrayed. I mean I get that the story might not include all the explanation we want, like gothikana (first book from her that I read). But I still very much enjoy and like gothikana.

The syndicater however, the characters don't feel like themselves at all. Tristan who is this Tristan man. Who is this people....?

Oh, and I honestly flinched when Tristan said 'I love you' to his sister idek what name to called her.

Norman Fucking Rockwell! Was playing in my head everytime I see Tristan which is crazy. I reread the predator and the reaper, that just annoyed me even more. Where these characters go? Some authors lost the plot, the syndicater lost both the character and plot.

Have finished reading The Syndicater and all I have to say is Runyx ruined her own work just to please her wild fantasies about Dainn. She single handedly made me hate Dainn for being the ultimate god father. Dark verse was about every couple and each character, but author made it all about Dainn.

And don’t even get me started on the treatment which Morana received, you’re telling me the same Tristan Caine doesn’t have any idea about Morana being kidnapped, Morana being in Pain, Morana being lost.

He would not marry her before finding Luna, and after finding Luna, Morana didn’t even get I love you nor the comfort she deserved.

The series literally just ended on The Annihilator for me.

just finished syndicater by runyx and I feel a little disappointed, like i went in with 0 expectations but I did not expect what happened in this book
