f/o who knows you aren’t okay. who noticed that you sleep more, eat less, that your feet drag when you walk.

f/o that comes home to find you in the same spot you were in when they left, and goes into the kitchen. they come back with tea and your favourite treat. they sit you up against them and they feed you. they hold the water to your lips.
f/o that doesn’t give up on you.
f/o that isn’t going to let you go, isn’t going to sit and watch you suffer like this. who holds you when you cry, who sits in all the hurt with you. who hates that you feel this way about yourself, about life.
f/o that believes you deserve a life better than this. and stops at nothing to give it to you.
f/o that knows you can do it, just that you need help. they know you don’t like asking for help, so they do it silently.

I think self shippers deserve to be nicer to themselves and make the way they imagine their f/os nicer to them bc being miserable as fuck gets old quickly but gets addicting given the right circumstances. I think self shippers should give themselves grace and allow themselves to grow into happier people bc of their f/o.

[ 💛- Is your interpretation of your f/o closer to canon or is it more of your own creation? ]
Kinda in the middle, maybe? I do try to stick somewhat closer to canon or take it into consideration, but of course some things will differ. Like for example, with my main boys (or not-boys #transgenderbeam /j), I do keep in mind how they're frequently on the move because of their respective jobs in their respective factions. At the same time, I have headcanons for appearance changes, gender & sexualities, cute domestic shit, etc. I try to keep it somewhat plausible, but some..not as much (ie how is Argenti constantly able to do what he does if he's like 4 different disabilities? ermmmm...... shush. /lighthearted).
That's kinda how it goes, everyone's f/o is different from each other and canon in some capacity 'cus of differing perceptions or headcanons or how their self-inserts/OCs/sonas/etc alter canon.

Boothill - On instinct I would say his complexity as a character or his personality, but half the time I'm thinkin' about him it's drooling over how beautiful he is... soooo. Hm. Tryin' to pinpoint specifics past that... I do think it's cute how it's kinda a opposites attract thing- myself/Clover are much quieter and preferring to work behind the scenes, yet he's quiet literally described in his intro as "unrestrained" and "flamboyant."
Argenti - Also very much his beauty, but also his vocal mannerisms. It's always a delight when he pops up in a quest or he visits the Astral Express- his way of speaking has me so giddy, it's so lovely. Go my beautiful yapper <3333
Rose - I drool over her constantly, so appearance probably counts, but also how I've written her honestly? Like she can/does come off more aloof and stoic to outside folks, but to her beloved (and the rest of the OC polycule), she's much more at ease and able to [somewhat] let her guard down- still working on getting it down further but it's a start!
Folly - I still have yet to do a deep-dive into her lore 'cus I don't touch her source very much, but I am enamored with how she looks. The height difference between themself and Elegy kills me. Giant wife <3
Dakota - MY BABYGIRL I don't know if I can choose a particular favorite, nothing comes to mind.
tldr mostly aesthetics/their appearance but also really adoring the personalities

Going with my boys & Folly on this one, 'cus it's hard to determine my own OCs' canon being changed by my characters if they're written for my characters.
Boothill - It's hard to say. Like on one hand, minus the whole dating thing, Clover's still an ally to him (if not the Galaxy Rangers as a whole) via the Astral Express; whatever the Nameless folks do with him and vice versa, they're most likely to follow. If they need to come to his aid somewhere somehow, they're gonna be there, both as an allying force and someone close. That man is not as close with most folks, if any, as he appears to be. That man is not as mentally well as he seems to function. I can hope Clover could help and keep him from going off the deep end, but at the end of the day, it's a matter of would their attempts to reach him even work?
Argenti - His is also tricky, for similar reasons to Boothill. He's all over the place. He's nearly gotten himself killed many a times with all the batshit things he's done- how do you throw yourself to the True Swarm to fight them and live??? Or the thing with Aventurine during Penacony?? Or the cursed sword incident??? And of course, nothing's gonna steer him away from his pursuit of encountering Idrila again (one way or another). We've seen him a bit sullen once or twice (like that one dialogue when visiting on the train, about the fellow knight that had passed, and I think briefly in recounting whatever dream he'd had in the Penacony quest), but it's not like there were any options for the trailblazer to try to cheer him up. It'd probably be easier for Clover toget him to let them help in some capacity (as opposed to their other partner), but there's only so much they can do.
Folly - Going solely off dialogue snippets from the elevator interactions with other NPCs and her floor, I'm inclined to say maybe a little? Of course, her personality probably won't change that much, she'll still be doing her usual, but... part of me hopes Elegy would be able to draw out a softer side at some point? Even a glimpse? Make a tiny crack in her walls? I don't know.
