Hear me out: AU where the next Clancy is overly obsessed with the Torchbearer and he tries so hard to get his attention in the weirdest ways possible (something has to eventually work, right???) and all but Torchbearer is too concentrated trying to hide how much he misses the previous Clancy so he doesn't notice any of new Clancy's attempts to sway him. Might find him a bit annoying, even. They can eventually grow more comfortable around each other though. :)

Okay but his backpack in the exhibit is making me ILL. Totally not thinking about Torch walking back to camp alone, using the little camping tin to make his dinner in and accidentally making too much because he’s used to Clancy being there with him 😭😭

and the description next to his torch saying “he carries a little reminder that we will try again” and it’s the bit of antler soaked in Clancy’s blood 😭😭😭
