A reference/visual design breakdown!

Son of Torchbearer and Nova Bishop Clancy, Zero is the Nova Priest of Dema. His duties include transcribing the List of the Glorious Gone, and the upkeep of the Nova district's chapel.

Shy and often dour, Zero stalls when offered a music deal by Good Day Dema. He hates performing in front of people, but knows his father wants him to take the stage.

YES YES ABSOLUTELY!!! it's one of my favorite movies ever!

Thank you all so much omg, I was not expecting that last post to get this much attention! I've been feeling sick/burned out all week long, and these kind words keep me going.

Also, in reply to these two: YES YES YESS!!!!! The reason for the caplet is because it's what Zero wears normally! I just changed the color/material. I'd imagine if he was kidnapped and forced to do a similar thing to Clancy in SAI, he'd still want his high collar and cute little stylish capelet.

As an added layer of symbolism, since Zero doesn't have a Stole like Clancy, he wears his name in the stripe at the bottom of his capelet. The part which the Bishops have conveniently changed in this outfit.

They're stripping him of his identity, even making him match his father's old hair from the orginal SAI era. And even though they let him keep the collar he is definitely still more exposed than usual.
