ENQUAINTED.
❛ please , sire. ❜ a mindful scoff as eyes remained to the ground underneath her. the quickened step wasn’t to flee from here or the man following close behind , but the hour was growing dark. her mother , the queen , will have her dead if she were to find out that she was not lying in her bed and would make news in the town. to have the children disappointed in the death of the story telling princess would break her even in the after life. ❛ i have seen creatures and shadows far worse. perhaps losing myself is what needs to happen to my soul. perhaps this is not for me ! stone walls and cold nights. please , let me flee ! ❜
‘ FLEE ? ’ he directed his horse around her , bringing him to a halt directly in front of her . ‘ flee from whom ? or w h a t , little one ? ’ his eyes seemed to grow steady warry , wandering from each side of the forest to the next . even he grew fearful of the cloaked v a m p i r e s . grost spoke of immunity to a BITE , scars on the back of his neck proving his point exactly , but kronos still wasn’t going to press his luck with another run in .
BLACKTHUMBED.
“I’m telling you, Averie, something weird is going on out here –” She was speaking quietly but emphatically into her cell phone. Averie was across the country at present, but it made her feel better to have him on the phone if things went wrong.
Which they might, given she was following the chill of something dead through an empty home that could only be described as ‘antique’. In the dead of night. Alone except for her dog.
“Averie –?” The phone beeped at her. Dropped call. With a huff, she shoved it back into her jeans and rounded a corner – colliding with someone very tall and unmoving. Clarke made a sound like a mouse shoved into a toaster, and swung.
he nearly blended into the darkness , and into the overall aesthetic the home held . vintage portraits aged from isolation paired with his attire ; military coat hung over his back , chain around his neck holding the fabric up as if it was a c a p e . if he wasn’t so solid , the man could have been mistaken for a ghost , a fallen german soldier wandering too far after his d e m i s e .
but he was r e a l ; he would never reveal his secrets but aided by his close friend , professor grost , he stood in a time much different than his origins . it wasn’t the first time , either . anywhere darkness lurked , kronos traveled , whether it be overseas or over centuries . ‘ you are very loud ’ he remarked , accent littering his words until they were nearly masked entirely .
‘ very loud , and very small . . . ’ he stayed completely still despite her swing , but kept blue hues glued to her . ‘ i must apologise ; frightening you wasn’t my objective . ’
‘ your postion holds no authority over ME ; treat me as equal , and i promise to aid you in the defeat of the beings that plague the forest ’
@malignedking
‘ innocence died long ago ; the being will find no p l e a s u r e in draining you , for your values are in tatters ’
@lcvatelli
‘ do not be so foolish ; GOD’S BLADE will reign , and you must cower . ’
