Elaine sputtered and coughed, clawing at the air as though she were still sinking in the icy waters of the ocean. When she realized she was dry as a bone, she sat up abruptly.

"Wh-what...? Did I drown?"

Wherever Elaine woke up, it was dark. Murky, inky darkness surrounded her, and whatever floor there was barely felt like floor. The only comfort in the darkness was the blue flame, though it held no warmth - and across from it, the source of the voice, a man. He cast her a tired though apologetic look. "You did drown. Well, mostly. You'll wake up soon - you're sort of... in between."

Height: a little over two blocks (6'5")

Personality Traits: Gruff, quiet, lonesome, stubborn, aged, wise, chronically exhausted, nostalgic, weary, torn down

Full Personality: Death is a man who has been worn down over the many years he's held his "position". The years have taught him to not grow too fond of mortals, avoiding interacting beyond with completing his tasks. He is slow to trust, quick to become stressed, and stuck in a mental cycle of believing it always ends up the same way, pessimistic to his core. Despite that all, he loves to explore, looking around the world and each new iteration.

Tidbits: - Death is constantly followed by black cats. He has a small army who enjoy his company. - Death cannot be seen by those around him unless he wills it. People can see his cats, however. - It's said that Death is on his way if you begin to see black cats, or find cats wanting to spend time with you. - The things he touches die spontaneously. A plant he touches with his bare hands might immediately wither away, dying. Due to this, he tends to wear sleeves or bandages to cover his hands and feet.
