Sappi asked us to capture the back-and-forth conversation as judges evaluated entries in an Annual Report competition. A subtle note occurs in the middle of the video when one of the judges does a few yoga stretches, after which time the judges' opinions move decidedly from the negative to the positive.
Vertex Pharmaceuticals hired us to shoot photography and video footage for the purpose of rebuilding their image library. An important step in this process was to edit the video from our first day of shooting in order to get a buy-off, and to establish a client comfort level with our shooting style: in addition to straight shooting, we mix in quick pans and in-focus/out-of-focus footage. Some clients see this as failed camera work whereas we believe it lends itself to an energetic editing style.
Bacou's Uvex division is a manufacturer of industrial safety glasses. This motivational video was used to introduce FitLogic, a new line with several adjustable features, at a Uvex sales meeting.
As part of a Mead Paper business conference in New York City, we were asked to produce this video honoring Les Daly, the former Director of Public Affairs at Northrop Corporation. Mead selected us because we had designed the Northrop annual report for a number of years and were intimately familiar with their process.
As a means of announcing their 2010 line of clubs, Titleist presented this video to their domestic and international partners during their annual sales meeting. We worked closely with Titleist to storyboard and focus on key club features. This video highlights photography beauty shots, elements from product page animations, previous Tour footage, and AfterEffects graphic elements, all of which emote an exciting, high-energy product showcase.
Millipore's Pure Potential video was based on the visuals and factoids of the 2001 printed annual report. The video is divided into sections representing Millipore's two business segments - life sciences research and biomanufacturing. Footage was shot at the same time as still photography, to ensure consistency, and the mix of black/white and color imagery reflects a similar treatment in the printed annual report. Footage was shot in various locations in the United States and overseas.
In 2005, Millipore was challenged with explaining their new, change-driven strategy to Wall Street, employees, and customers. One tool in that communication: a high-energy, emotive, and visually impactful video used at an analyst event in New York City to kick off a series of senior management presentations. It was also screened at a worldwide employee town meeting and on the Company's website. Two interesting techniques reinforced the message: the switch from black and white to color, and the switch from sound bites to music.
No words, no type - but this high impact video with action and music captures the energy of windsurfing. One side note: our multi-talented videographer had to jump overboard to untangle a rope from the propeller of the boat! The "talent" was the former CEO of Millipore, Martin Madaus, an accomplished windsurfer and kite surfer.
The animated type and visual imagery featured in this video helped deliver core messages during the brand re-launch of RSA Security. A video library developed concurrent with custom photography lent a rich visual consistency across different media platforms. The music is effective, and the program ends dramatically and well.
The intent of "translational research" is to move scientific breakthroughs into effective patient therapies and cures as quickly as possible. In a series of videos created for Harvard Catalyst, the different phases of translational research were discussed through the lens of one disease - diabetes. Leading researchers in each phase explained T1, T2, T3, and T4 phases for the intended audience of medical students and physicians. Effective b-roll and editing helped tell the story.
Weymouth Design helped organize the judging process for the 2007 Graphis Annual of Annual Reports, the premier international awards publication in our industry. We made this video to capture the energy of the judging process.
In preparation for the 2008 telecommunications conference in Europe, international mobile solutions firm XIUS-BCGI was in need of a cohesive visual system and video to separate itself from the competition and convey its new "Take the Lead" theme. The minute-long video utilizes custom, blur-motion location photography and footage, titling, quick edits, fast-paced motion and music to captivate the company's on-the-go, tech-savvy audience.
RSA, the Security Division of EMC, chose a "fearless" theme for the RSA Symposium in 2008. We created a high-energy extreme sports video, shot at various locations, to convey this sense of daring. Music and quick editing helped drive the message home. All expert models were safely landed.
When Invitrogen and Applied Biosystems merged to become Life Technologies, we produced a dynamic video to energize the employees from both companies and promote a shared sense of potential. Existing footage and newly shot interviews were combined with AfterEffects titling sequences to create a complete visual experience.
