Hey everyone. I guess this has been a bout a year coming huh? But the truth is Zack’s been gone a while and Sasha’s just not pulling at me enough to bother. I guess I had it coming what with life bulldozing me and then smols being born, and then moving and a whole bunch of other things bulldozing me and other muses moving on too. So with that said….
I love each and everyone one of you now and always. Thank you for the wonderful times you and your muses have given us. I won’t be archiving this blog, and I will be logging in now and then to make sure his url stays in tact. Because who knows maybe someday he’ll whiz back into my life and we can start again. But for now…
We bid you all a fond : Until next we meet, because goodbyes are to finite.
All our love,
Jai & Zack & Sasha

He hadn’t meant to extend his prosthetic hand to Sasha, but was relieved when she didn’t flinch away from it. Bucky walked her over to Steve and pulled her in front of him so he could introduce her properly.
“Steve, I would like to introduce you to Sasha Barton.”
Steve extended his hand for Sasha to shake and gave her one of his award winning smiles. Bucky slung his arm over Steve’s shoulder with a sly grin on his face.
“She has been kind enough to keep me company throughout this whole event so I thought I would return the favor. Her brother…” he looked over at Sasha so she could point out her brother.
“…is a huge fan of yours. I thought we could maybe mess with him a little bit by talking with Sasha.”
Bucky gave Steve a pat on the back and pleaded with his eyes to break through Steve’s slightly annoyed glare at him. Steve let out a sigh through his pursed lips but eventually agreed.
“Sorry you had to deal with this jerk all on your own. He can be a lot to handle,” Steve said with a chuckle as he bumped his shoulder against Bucky.
Bucky gave Steve’s ribs a good jab in return but chuckled along with his friend.
The ‘grand’ introduction has her lips thinning into something amused, hiding them behind a hand. Doing her very best not to giggle at the silliness of it. But her other does not fail in taking the Captain’s hand. Giving it a proper, rather firm grip for her size. A little nod of acknowledgement, though it turns a bit into a toss of her head. Indicating a dark head man, a few years her senior and out standing her by a nearly a foot.
There’s a sort of glued on smile on his face, baring another round of jokes and ‘so there we were’s’ from Sam and Rhodey and oh there goes Tony. Tripping on his feet a minute before slinging an arm over Rhodey’s shoulders, interupting the flow of conversation. And Sasha’s brother, takes a fraction of a step back. An uneasy sip from his drink; as his gaze passes across the room.
He’s found her in the crowd. She can feel his gaze settle on her, but not daring to turn about. Her shoulder’s squaring just a little bit more under the scrutiny. Focusing instead on Steve’s apology and waving it off with a gentle laugh.
“He was a complete gentleman, thank you.”
“My apologies for monopolizing so much of his time, but we both needed a little air I think.”
@wearebartons ♥’d for Wanda
It’s one of her favorite days of the month. Her coffee and shopping date with Sasha. One of the joys of having a daughter is the shopping together. No brothers to complain that they’re bored. No impatient husband waiting to go. Just her and Sasha spending time together.
She’s running a bit early; getting to the coffee shop close to ten minutes before they’re due to meet, so she gets herself a coffee and muffin before sitting down at a table to wait.
Mom is already there, and she’s hurrying along with the flow of people. Traversing the cross walk; and deftly avoiding being shoved into a near by trashcan by someone in an even bigger hurry. Pooka had not been thrilled about being left behind this morning. But he’ll live. She’d left him with Walden and his hoard for the day. Doggie play date and babysitting. She owes the man one for it, but that’s okay. She’ll cook him dinner this weekend.
Soon enough she’s slipping in the door of the coffee shop, placing her order, and taking her customary croissant before locating her mother. Sitting down with a bit of a whoosh. But all smiles and leaning forward for a hug. Turning a blind eye to her third sight entirely. She doesn’t need it for now.
“Buna Mama.”
“How was your trip?”
@wearebartons ♥’d for Pietro
A gust of wind ruffles blonde hair as Pietro speeds past his niece to her kitchen to deposit the box of pastries he’d brought with him on her countertop. The visit had been planned, the treats not so much. But on his way over he’d caught a whiff of baked goods and couldn’t help himself. He’d gotten hungry.
He walks out of the kitchen at a far more relaxed pace, bringing with him a pair of chocolate croissants. One of which already has a rather large bite taken out of it. The other is offered to Sasha.
She’d seen him coming, a few minutes ago. Probably one of two people on the planet that her uncle can’t really surprise. At least when she’s looking. And there’s an easy comb of fingers through her hair, resettling it. Putting down the latest copy of Chef magazine; and turning down the volume on the TV. A full bodied stretch before she’s getting up. Grabbing napkins from the small dinning table as she passes it. Holding them out beneath the pastries in his hand. A teasing smile, crowned by a lift of one brow.
“You know knocking is a thing, Unchi.”

stupid people run. stupid people run when moreau wants them. eliot was’t sure if moreau had made it known that he wanted her or not, damien never told him anything. not really. but he was annoyed. mostly because he hadn’t told anyone what they were doing and still, somehow, his target was running. and he could just see the disappointed crease between moreau’s eyebrows. there were four of them. eliot in front, three flanking, just in case she proved difficult. eliot always went first. but she was gone and she was running and eliot had no idea how the fuck she knew they were coming but he had to adjust his plan. eliot took off after her, men in close pursuit, ready to take anything she threw at him. or rather, he’d try. moreau wanted her. and moreau always got what he wanted. even if eliot wasn’t entirely sure what he needed a kid like her for.
Dirt and dust are kicked up behind her. Lungs dragging in oxygen but not fast enough. Making the decision to look back, catching a flicker of what’s behind her, and retracting the decision so as to keep her eyes forward. Tripping now would definitely see her caught within seconds, and she doesn’t need her second sight to know that.
A sharp curve to the left and slides around it, nearly out of control but catches herself on the guideline fence. Bolting off all in the same breath. The instinct to hide growing because while she isn’t out of shape, she’s not exactly had endurance training and she’s getting tired. But for every place she chooses along the way they find her in minut---wait. There. They won’t find her there, at least not for five minutes and that’s all she needs. Five minutes to catch her breath.
She runs half way across the stone bridge, that lies over a lazy creek that cuts through the park. A breath, and shaky hands see her climbing over the low railing and...she drops over the side. Landing in ankle deep water, and rushing beneath the structure. Tucking herself up along the bank she’d come from. Hand over her mouth to muffle her breathing.
Not a sound, Sasha. Just like Dad taught you. Small as possible and silent as the dead.

Bucky graciously allowed Sasha to take the lead as they walked back inside. He chuckled when Sasha’s words solidified the glimpse of drunk Tony. Bucky had been around drunken Tony a few times and they always proved to be memorable to say the least. Tonight appeared to not be any different. He sighed and smiled.
“That is such a waste of good whiskey. I tend to take everything said to me with a grain of salt, but I will keep that in mind.”
Steve motioned for him. Bucky turned toward Sasha with a mischevious grin. How would you like to make your brother squirm a bit? His idea was harmless, but Bucky knew how to mess with sibling’s heads. He had been an older brother of girls and boys in his family. It was always nice to have something over your siblings that you could pull out on a rainy day. Bucky held out his prosthetic hand for Sasha to take so that he could guide her through the crowd toward Steve and some other Avengers.
She steps inside, the instant rush of the party invading her senses. Normally it isn’t so bad because she’s perched about the edges. People watching, and...future watching. But the first or in this case re-immersion into the fray as it were has her momentarily stalling. Finding her feet and blocking out the million and one decisions going on around her; that map out the next five minutes of life within this room.
Though one in particular decision isn’t so easy to ignore. One because it has to do with her and two because for whatever reason proximity to a person always seemed to help. And there’s a bit of a coy tilt to her head. A brow arched in Bucky’s direction.
She can’t see exactly what he’s up too. Not yet. The end goal is still out of her range of vision; but she sees enough that...oh this should be good. And without the slightest hesitiation she takes the hand offered her with a bright smile. Though if one looked hard enough, they would see the corner of it tinged with the same mischief. She might be the prim and proper one but she’s still a Barton; and knows how “trouble” works.
“Good.”
“Just as long as you remember some dishes don’t need salt at all.”

( X ) @hittcr
This morning her routine has been slightly altered. Pooka isn’t with her for her run. He’s at the vet for check up and grooming. And it had just been easier to leave him there over night and pick him up between her morning coffee break and heading out in search of a replacement coffee table at the thrift shop. So she heads out for her run without him. Earbuds soundly in place, and heading for Central Park a few blocks away. And by the time she gets there, she well lost herself in the rhythm of her feet and the beat of the music of her ears. Enjoying the sun rise and cold that any proper New Yorker appreciates.
At least until something that hasn’t happened yet, proverbially slaps her across the face. And it’s violent enough to have her stopping. Gulps of hair taken in and pushed out in patches of white clouded condensation. Blue hues wide and unseeing of the present world around her. At least not until her range of foresight runs out with an almost literal fade to black. One foot taking a step back as she scans the path ahead of her, and one figure sticks out among the scarce few homeless strangers that liter the parkway. Something isn’t right about them. They aren’t here for view or someone homeless looking for somewhere to spend the day.
Another step back, and she’s turning, running back the way she’s come. Panic crawling up her spine. Stupid. Stupid. Stupid. This right here is the main reason why her father had given her Pooka. And the worst of it? She left her phone at home. A mishap, a fluke. The panic only getting worst with the thought. And if anyone knows her, they understand how blinding panic can be to her. how fuzzy it makes the future, and she bolts down a trail to her right. Hoping against everything she can lose them.
HC
Anyone that knows Sasha knows that while she can be eccentric in some ways, she is very rooted in routine in others. Up at five, first cup of coffee, and morning boost shake, starting her jog with Pooka by five thirty. Home by six forty-five. Shower, breakfast, and heading to her favorite coffee spot by eight. And from there sometimes things change. Either window shopping in her favorite thrift shop, or going shopping for ingredients she knows she’ll need for dinner later. Then off to work by ten; because there is always prep work that needs doing for the dinner rush. But that is on work days. Her days off rinse and repeat most of that, though Pooka is taken along for coffee and shopping. Often times the park to give her pet a chance at fetch and herself time in the sun while browsing the latest chef magazine.

He saw the look Sasha gave him and looked away. There wasn’t fear in her eyes, but he had seen himself in his Hydra gear. His metal arm alone brought fear to many who had never even met him. The mask wasn’t only a muzzle for him but also a way to intimidate his targets. Bucky didn’t know what it felt like to live in someone’s shadow. He was the oldest in his family, had good grades and excelled at boxing. When he was in the army, he was part of the howling commandos and an amazing sniper. As the Winter Soldier, he was perfect in Hydra’s eyes. Now was the only time he had ever felt insecure about himself. For the first time, maybe he was living in Steve’s shadow.
“Sounds like a better show than watching Stark get hammered,” he commented with a sarcastic chuckle.
Bucky’s smile returned to his face when Sasha laughed again. He wasn’t certain why she covered her mouth, but it was probably the same reason why he hid his prosthetic arm. Insecurity. Being polite. Whatever reason, Bucky didn’t care because it made him smile, which happened a lot less than he liked. He looked over his shoulder at the party going on inside. Steve beckoned toward him and he could have sworn Wanda’s eyes were boring holes into him.
“We should probably go back in.”
“I dunno that can be preettty entertaining too.”
There’s a scrunch of her nose, a tilt back and forth of her head. There’s been plenty of times Stark has made her laugh with his drunken antics. After all parties like this, they were always just in good fun. At least until someone decided their pride couldn’t handle it. But normally Sasha is rather good at noticing fights before they happen, and finding ways to divert or otherwise defuse sudden ‘cage battles’.
Sasha leave the poor man be. ....sorry, Mom.
Despite the mental admonishment, Sasha turns back full to Bucky. Picking up her drink in the processes. A little nod at his comment. Yea it probably is a good idea. She’s captivated enough of his time as it is. Granted she’d only meant to help. Give him a chance at some fresh air. But maybe they had stayed out here a little too long. He did have actual friends here that deserved his time. And she’s moving to take a step towards the door.
“Yea, just uh...watch out for Stark.”
“He’s apparently gotten into the good whiskey while we’ve been out here. But I promise he doesn’t mean anything he’s gonna say. Not really.”

There’s a few blinks and for the first time, he doesn’t have an answer. Why didn’t he just wait until whatever disturbed was gone. That was the choice that was supposed to be made. But that wasn’t what Redback did.
The handler is still waiting for an answer so he straightens again with a small shake of his head. “The weapon isn’t sure sir. It made a grave tactical error and apologizes for it.”
And headache acquired. We aren’t sure. Mother isn’t going to like that answer. She’s hollowed out the minds of men for less offenses than simply not knowing what went wrong on a mission. He’ll have to do things the old school way. Have the technical team see if they can dig up the traffic camera footage. Figure out what in the hell went so wrong so entirely, that one of their best robo-man asset turned tail and rabbited. Or Mother would dig it out of him. One of the two. Either way the asset's primary handler would be changing. Though as to who that’s going to be, Zach isn’t sure yet. Not like he’s sure about how Redback’s old handler is already face down in a gutter, like the waste of time he apparently was.
“Clearly.”
“You’ll be changing hands, once we’re home again. Provided Mother doesn’t scrap you for spare parts.”
Is he joking? Maybe. It’s always been hard to tell with Zach.

MJ could not help but laugh at the idea of someone having pegged her favourite doughnut type, even more amused at the fact he had gotten in right. She was a little embarrassed to admit that she frequented the shop enough that she knew by heart what doughnuts were their specials on which days, and it just so happened that day was PB and J which was a regular favourite of hers - especially when paired with a good, dark coffee. “I am, usually, but nothing beats their PB and J special on Wednesdays.” It was perhaps a bit of an embarrassing fact, but being the gym rat that she was and the long, crazy hours she kept at the hospital she felt as though it was a well deserved treat after a long shift. Before the youngest of her elder brothers, Ben, had been recruited by SHIELD for his magnificent abilities to manipulate gravity fields, he had worked at the shop in the hopes of having a business of his own some day. The short visit with her brother (even though she lived with him she saw him very rarely) had been the highlight of some particularly rough weeks. As they drew closer to the cafe it slowly became busier, MJ a little dismayed at the thought of having to wait in line but she knew it was for people looking to grab and go instead of sitting down like she supposed they were going to. Besides, it was too nice a day to simply get a bite to eat and then leave and she had always wanted to sit at one of the little tables out front on the makeshift patio.
“Oh, good, Claire’s working - we won’t have to wait long.”
PB and J special on Wednesdays.
Okay so she’s a regular. He can’t say he’s much of a regular anywhere, unless it’s the coffee spot just down the street from his apartment. And then his desk at work. He’s very much a regular there. But maybe that doesn’t really count. And there’s an acknowledging shrug of shoulders. It’s not his style really. He’s pretty old fashion when it comes to pastries, but more power to her, if she likes it.
Once they got closer he notices how busy it is too. A slight crease of his brows. A sip of his coffee. He doesn’t have anywhere to be, but he’s not really good at hurry up and wait either. Not that one could blame him, considering he feels every second pass much more acutely than the rest of the population on the planet.
“Claire huh? Let me guess. The blond one with a crooked pony tail?”
It’s a skill S.H.I.E.L.D. teaches all their agents. Profiling, with often very little to nothing at all to go on. And Zach has never been overly good at ‘switching off’. Even when not on the clock as they say. Feet carrying him a little to the right, snagging a table that has just been vacated. Another noise, that’s both a hiss and some sort of low pitched whistle escaping between his teeth. Bozo planting himself down by one of the chairs, while Zach secured the other end of his leash to the table leg.
“Why don’t you sit. I’ll get us breakfast, if you don’t mind babysitting.”

Bucky was able to smile and act so freely while around Sasha. He rolled his empty beer bottle in between his hands and began to forget about the stressors of the party. Bucky saw the slight twinge of pink on Sasha’s cheeks yet politely diverted his gaze. She probably received a lot of compliments for her cooking, but maybe not as many about herself. Sasha began to talk about Steve and Bucky immediately chuckled.
He still could not believe half of the stuff he heard about Steve. There were so many stories and moments he had missed, but Steve had been doing his best to tell Bucky all of it. Bucky wanted to tell Steve about his life, before they had found each other again, but he sometimes couldn’t stand the pain that reflected back at him in Steve’s eyes.
Bucky turned around and rested his back against the banister. He dangled the empty beer bottle loosely from his fingertips with a smug smile.
“He is an amazing guy, but your brother shouldn’t worry. Steve is only intimidating when he is protecting the people he cares about or kicking Hydra’s ass.”
His arms crossed over his chest as he turned and relaxed on his prosthetic elbow.
“If your brother made it into SHIELD then he shouldn’t worry to much. I have heard that the testing and training are rigorous, but they pick the best of the best. There was something about Z which probably stood out to them.”
Bucky bit his lower lip with a humored smile. He looked up at Sasha from under his long hair as he did his best to not laugh too hard.
“That would be a fun sight to see.”
“My parents took us to the museum once when we were kids. We had to dress up all incognito, put it was fun. I remember seeing all the footage and photos. And I don’t think Steve is the only one that’s only intimidating when fighting the bad guys.”
There’s a slight side eyed glance sent Bucky’d direction. A little mischeivous grin that pulls at one side of her mouth. It’s a little joke, but also her way of telling him you don’t scare me.
“Z’s just paranoid. Honestly don’t know where he gets it from. Always so busy trying to break out of Daddy’s shadow.”
She’s not at all aware of the fact she’d said Daddy instead of our dad and there’s a tisk sort of noise, her gaze shifting to the door. Her spoken of sibling, currently trapped in some conversation that seemed to involve Zach being the complete center of attention. And she has to stop herself from making the decision to step inside just to see what the conversation might be about.
Instead she turns back to the tree line. Kicking her feet again. Once then twice before rocking back and settling on them once more. A half turn to face her company a little better. Another sip of her drink, before it’s gingerly set back down on the railing once more.
“Oh it’s bound to happen at least once, tonight. When I see it’s going to, I’ll be sure to give you a heads up. Front row seats to the Z making a fool out of himself show, is always best.”
Another airy laugh, that has a hand coming up to cover her mouth. A mannerism she perhaps picked up from her mother. Both something polite as well as telling of how shy she might be in some aspects.

As Sasha continued to talk - the fact that she told the elevator where to go and the fact it talked back almost going unnoticed by MJ but it was hardly the most shocking thing to happen to her that day - she could not help but picture just what was going on back at the hospital. She could tell by the screams that a few people had been hit and she hoped desperately that there had been no casualties. At first she had thought it was perhaps a HYDRA raid looking for some hiding out superhero, not looking for her and MJ wracked her brain on why they could have been looking for her. The only thing remotely super related, other than her brothers, was the man she had treated a few weeks ago. He had been with SHIELD and had offered her a job - which she had turned down, not wishing to involve herself with the aggravating and dangerous organization. However, he had seemed relatively normal (beyond being incredibly cute) and they had done little else besides grab breakfast and a cup of coffee. It hardly seemed like something that HYDRA would want to hunt her down for. Then, the memory of just why Zach had delivered the offer from SHIELD struck her, and she very nearly groaned - her grad school research she had been petitioning to get money to fund ever since she had left John Hopkins. It had been incredibly advanced and outlined ideas for biomechanical prosthetics for veterans that could all too easily be weaponized - something a group like HYDRA would have been all too happy to get their evil hands on. With a ‘whoosh’ that pulled her attention back to reality, MJ’s eyes widened at the sight of a very open but very cozy looking common area for what appeared to be an enormous apartment of some sort. There was a large kitchen with appliances that made her own look like it came from the stone age, and couches and chairs so plush she wanted to run over and sink into one with one of the bowls of tomato soup Sasha had mentioned “Whoa - nice place.”
Whoa- nice place.
There’s a geunine smile flashed in the doctor direction. Sasha so very rarely has anyone over, anywhere. Be it here or at her own apartment. Like most of her family she is rather consumed by her job, most of the time. Even if her job only entails the kitchen working smoothly and that dishes are properly plated before being delivered. Instead of saving the world, one globe trotting mission at a time.
“Stark doesn’t really do small.”
She offers, with a bit of a shrug. It’s to open for her tastes. To impersonal but it’s the common room. The space for the Avengers to gather and relax after hours. And not really a place Sasha spends much time in. When she’s here anyway. And rather quickly, she’s tugging MJ along again. Across the wide room and through one of the doors, that litter the outside wall.
Here is a smaller space, but no less well equipped. An apartment built with a three bedroom floor plan. A reasonably sized living room, open to a compacted but high tech kitchen. And a balcony just off to the left, just beyond the ‘dining room’ table. Granted all of that might be lost by the distraction that is a two toned mutt barrelling out of the back hallway. All tongue and happy barks. Sasha releasing MJ’s hand at last and dropping to her knees to greet her bestest friend.
“Pooka! Good boy. Sit!”
After a few face slathering licks the dog does as commanded. Tongue lolling out of his mouth and staring up at MJ with two separately colored eyes. The want to play written in every square inch of his being.
“Pooka this is MJ.”
“MJ....Pooka..... You can pet him, but he’s gonna give you kisses if you do.”

xcuratiox:
It was all a blur as the tiny blonde led her through the hallways of the complex, a few of the faces appearing sympathetic but more were just confused at the sight of the haggard young woman in filthy scrubs being towed past. MJ could not blame them, she would probably find the sight odd if she were an agent working in a high tech facility where most were dressed in various shades of black and grey uniforms that looked as though they could be in a laundry detergent commercial. Most of what Sasha had been saying went right over her head as her thoughts whirled inside like a storm, questions like the bullets that had filled the air not an hour ago passing by before she could even grab hold and find a coherent idea to hold on to. It was all so much to take in let alone handling it all in a single day, and it was only when her guardian asked her a question that MJ was able to break free of her trance. “Uh - a size four?”
It was a guess, for the moment her thoughts too jumbled to recall something as trivial as what pant size she wore as most lately, she had been wearing nothing but scrubs and sweat pants. The mention of wearing something that belonged to Sasha’s mom very nearly made MJ stop dead in her tracks when she remembered just who she was and a giddy, nervous laugh began to well up in her belly and creep towards her mouth at the realization she would probably very soon be wearing clothes that belonged to the Scarlet Witch. “I don’t want to impose, I’m sure they wouldn’t want me wearing their clothes after all this - not that I’m not grateful I just haven’t showered since the end of my shift - “
"Oh pfft. My parents don’t care, and Z, that’s my brother, rarely uses what he leaves here anyway. It’s no big deal. Besides you’re going to take one soon. Fresh and clean will help. And I’m glad you don’t mind cinnamon soap. It’s all my mom buys.”
And the elevator door pings, finally. MJ pulled into it behind her as she goes.
“F.R.I.D.A.Y. ? Avenger’s living quarters please, and thanks.”
Aye, Sasha. Right away.
She knows that MJ needs time to decompress. To process what’s happened, and Sasha will give her all the time she needs after they get into her family’s living space here at HQ. It’s quieter there. More homey, less...military installation. And for the moment she remains quiet. Humming to herself as the elevator takes off upward. Picking at pieces of glass who only knew what out of her hair. Brushing off a bit of dust from her jacket. She’s going to be changing too. Getting a shower herself. Wash off the morning that really didn’t have any business going as side ways as it did. But glad she was there to prevent it from going upside down completely.
“My mom made tomato soup last night. So at least it’ll be something you like eating. Oh and because you’re going to ask... no my mom’s not here. She’s probably in India by now. Or at least that’s where she said she was going when I talked to her.”
“I can’t complain though. She promised to bring me back some spices I’m running low on. Do you have any idea how hard it is to find places that don’t skimp on things around here? It’s honestly very ridiculous.”
