You know, it’s too bad that you couldn’t help your little friend. That little girl? What was her name again? Rue? Yeah, well, we killed her. And now we’re gonna kill you.
the pop version of “The Hanging Tree” makes me so uncomfortable
because it’s exactly what the Capitol would do to neutralize the power of that song- they’d set it to a dance beat and play it on the radio until the lyrics lost all meaning
THANK YOU FINALLY SOMEONE POINTED IT OUT
jesus christ, for real like and the award for mISSING THE GOD DAMN POINT GOES TO
The Hunger Games Trilogy // Last Sentences
President Snow to Katniss
Snow: Got a long list of ex-victors
Snow: They'll tell you I'm insane
Snow: 'Cause you know I hate the players
Snow: BUT I LOVE THE GAMES
There are countries that have banned Mockingjay for fear their people will finally rise up against them and start their own revolutions. There are people in Thailand that have been arrested for doing the three fingered salute.
If you still think these books about people standing up to their governments are just fads for teenagers you are blind and mistaken.
I’m gonna go see Mockingjay in a couple hours, so here’s a doodle of book!Katniss c:
Make him pay for it.
endless list of favorite characters → katniss everdeen, the hunger games
The bird, the pin, the song, the berries, the watch, the cracker, the dress that burst into flames. I am the mockingjay. The one that survived despite the Capitol’s plans. The symbol of the rebellion.
But that ain’t Jennifer Lawrence? Looks more like Keisha Castle-Hughes.
It’s Q’orianka Kilcher, and I used her as a dreamcast because I always read Katniss as PoC. Jennifer Lawrence is a fine actress, but she’s not at all an accurate representation of the Katniss in my head.
#sometimes i think the casting call was for a white girl because a woman of color raising up an army #and becoming the symbol of the revolution would be too close to social commentary they considered too radical #because we can rage against the patriarchy only if it’s in the future #and we can rage against racism only if it’s in the past #but we can’t rage against both #because that is too close to threatening the status quo of the present (via dealanexmachina)
New clip of Katniss meeting her camera crew—Cressida, Messalla, Castor & Pollux.
When all is lost, courage is found. WATCH Katniss return to District 12 in the brand new preview of The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1!
Lettering by Risa Rodil
I drag myself out of nightmares each morning and find there’s no relief in waking. Better not give in to it. It takes ten times as long to put yourself together as it does to fall apart.
My nose twitches. It’s the smell. Cloying and artificial. A dab of white peeks out of a vase of dried flowers on my dresser. I approach it with cautious steps. There, all but obscured by its preserved cousins, is a fresh white rose. Perfect. Down to the last thorn and silken petal.
And I know immediately who’s sent it to me.
President Snow.
Are you fighting, Katniss? Will you fight with us?
a good girl goes to war
#the difference.
Just look at her now though.
In the first movie, she was white as a sheet, with fake colours, hair and emotions.
She looks more natural in the second movie because Katniss and Peeta inspired her, and she felt close to them. Now that they’re being ripped away from her, she doesn’t love the Capitol enough to smile.
She’s burning with fear and anger and sorrow.
now this is what i call minor character development at it’s finest
I LITERALLY CANNOT JUST SCROLL PAST THIS POST IT’S PROBABLY THE TENTH TIME I’VE REBLOGGED IT TODAY NO JOKE
