Officially a skincare addict (?)
Ok...I’m not gonna mentioned the fact that I haven’t been on this platform for a really long time cos...I mean is that even unusual now HAHA..
Right...so I realized I haven’t wrote anything about my skin journey, aka how much my skin has been wrecked and been through so much to get to what it is today. It has been a good long it’s about 3 years on now and I think its about time I write about it?
ok..basically let’s break it down to what happened:
March - Mid 2016:
-Went to Korea and bought the whole Odbo skincare range around March/April.
-Had a Philips event job around June. Stationed to do a air-fryer demo and that was when my skin took a downfall.
Nov - Dec 2016:
-Had a major breakout again during this period.
Entire year of 2017:
-Embarked on the journey of finding the right skincare for my skin.
2018:
-2nd year of journey, recovering period.
2019:
-Road to faster recovery.
Right, so let me elaborate what exactly happened to my skin during these 3 years. Basically ever since I’ve bought the odbo skincare range that was marketed to target sensitive skin like me, I went crazy about it and started a VERY, VERY BAD SKINCARE REGIME. VERY. BAD. Especially so during the Philips event where I worked in such a dirty environment, I made sure that when I went home that night, I would wash my face thoroughly, like I mean going through 3 rounds of washing my face with facial washes containing very harsh salts and acne triggering ingredients. Yep, you can tell my skin has gone through war here.
Nov to December period was the period where I was stressed coping with uni. The fact that I barely even started uni and suddenly I’m loaded with multiple projects definitely didn’t help my skin at all, but only made it worser than it alr is.
First half of Dec as I was mugging for my exams I realized how bad my skin had become and it got to a point where it hit my confidence level so hard. That was also the first time I saw my own reflection through the mirror and cried. It was also a promise I made to myself that I would make it better and not make it worse.
I began a thorough research from there since, starting with skincare ingredients and to finding the skincare my skin is screaming out for. Since I started out with very little budget, my skin improvement was definitely moving in a very slow pace, to the fact that it took almost 2 years to what it is today. Now that I’m working and had saved quite a bit, I decided to seek out professional help to help elevate my skin concerns. After a long debate between choosing a dematologist or going for facials/ aesthetician, I decided to go ahead with the latter. Been through almost 5 sessions, I’d love to talk about my experiences, both good and bad, which I will talk about in my next post!
