“Shitshow at the shop,” she replied, following him further inside. “I never thought being an artist meant dealing with so many assholes.”
Although there were plenty of those in the art field. Her short time in art school had prepared her for those. But to deal with dickheads who actually searched you out was a whole other story.
She wiggled her fingers together and looked through his wares as he recited his menu. “You know I definitely want some cookies with my zip,” ahe said with a smile.
Her fingers wrapped themselves around a couple of his bags and inhaled each one deeply. Shit smelled delicious. “Ahhh my god,” she said after sniffing one. “You always have the best stuff.”
She picked out two strains and a few edible to go with them. A quick exchange of money and goods and her day was already looking up.
“So,” she said as she started rolling a blunt - her usual thanks for his delivieries. “What about you? Any good stories from your travels today?” she added, her fingers working nimbly.

“Oh noooo. That’s so shitty- what happened?”
He asked, mostly out of concern, but also partly from morbid curiosity. He was in the same boat too though- when he started to do this; he only wanted to deliver to people he liked. And sure- he only sold to repeat customers- or approved referrals of said repeaters. But that didn’t exempt him from shitheads. He still needed to make money.
He was grateful for the regulars like Emily who made it worth it.
“Yeah, those one’s are good. I used to have this great hook up for mushroom brownies.” But she’d been out of the picture for a while now. He hoped that wherever she was, she was okay.
When Emily had picked and payed for her goods, he tucked the money and the weed back into the little lockbox, which then went back into his backpack.
“Let’s see. I delivered to a swingers party...which was in...full swing.”
It was far from his scene, but he didn’t judge.
“Then there was the two older ladies who kept calling me after I left
because the one thought she had died...they were really nice though.”
