I mean there are people who can hear as low as 12 Hz, but most can’t hear below 20. This isn’t the exact bottom of our hearing range and lower notes on most instruments would have audible overtones, but whatever.

^This. I can’t hear 20 Hz and I have a “dampening” at around 4 KHz, and stop listening anything at around 18-19 KHz

Even if it’s considered “audible,” it will be incredibly difficult to find a speaker capable of pushing any sound below F0 without ripping itself apart. Not to mention that not a lot of amplifiers have transformers capable of this.

This is a wicked sick bass strung up with bridge cables and tuned /just/ low enough for what Bongripper is trying to accomplish (to which Ron will point out quite often on the TalkBass forums that it is very difficult to maintain).

There is always an exception to the rules. Bickering about the freaks of human evolution doesn’t make this bass any less rad.
