a goodbye for now

hi my lovelies. I feel like this is a long time coming, but I have made the decision to go on hiatus from tumblr for the time being. i always try to be as honest as possible with you guys on here. I don’t know if it will be for a week, a month, but just for a bit. this is purely for my own sanity and mental health. my personal life is not the greatest right now, and i am rapidly declining. this is not the safe space it used to be for me, and it has become very toxic and emotionally draining and it happens no matter what fandom i’m active in. I have watched it destroy many people I love and i’m trying to prevent that for myself. i feel like i’m walking on eggshells everytime i post on here. i feel like I don’t belong bc my edits and my fics don’t get as many notes as my peers. i almost crashed my car today because I was having an anxiety attack and that is not something normal. i contemplate taking my life at times and my first thought is “but what would my tumblr followers think?” and that is not normal either. I am seeking the help I need and what I deserve. i’m putting myself first and leaving here for a bit is crucial to that. i have made so many friendships here that I am forever grateful for. I love this place I truly do, but right now it’s just not good for me. if you want to stay in contact, my discord is cherrybarzy(emmie)#3738 I am way more active on there. you can ask for my snapchat or instagram or whatever. hopefully this won’t be the last you hear from me and i’ll be back soon. I love y’all more than anything. take care of yourselves. come find me if you need me. put yourself first. you don’t owe anyone anything and it’s okay to be selfish sometimes. 💓

why are so many great writers leaving? It makes me sad that so many are leaving and that we cant read their content anymore or even say goodbye :(

tumblr used to be a safe place for so many of us, but recently, with the waves of unnecessary hate and bullying, many writers are discouraged to continue writing and don't feel that spark of happiness they used to feel while logging in.

if you're a content consumer, please support your favorite writers as much as you can; leave comments, reblog with tags or a little something like your favorite quote, leave an ask telling them how good their work was and you're endlessly thankful for the time they put in this... too many writers feel like their efforts go to waste because they think they "don't fit in" (this is what a writer friend of mine told me before deactivating, i'm just using her own words here).

writing is fun, it's a hobby for us. so when it slowly turns into a task, something we have to do instead of something we want to do, this is when many of us decide to leave
