1966 REMCO green tinted Lost in Space robot
1966 S&E Space Scout X-5 rocket car
1980s SJM Piston Robot made in Taiwan
Circa 1967 HIGH-WHEEL Wind-Up ROBOT - KO YOSHIYA - JAPAN
This is the 4 gear version of the wind-up High Wheel Robot. The robot is in excellent condition and works like a charm. All the wheels turn, and it walks with sparking action. It measure 10 inches tall. High Wheel bears the KO (Yoshiya) trademark on the back as well as Made in Japan.
Circa 1961 Mechanical MEGO MAN Robot. Manufactured by Yoneya for Mego
This is the harder to find and more desirable silver version of Mego Man. Mego Man measures 7 inches tall and features beautiful mechanical lithography on the body and head. It’s wind-up mechanism works well. When wound Mego Man moves forward and around in circles caused by a mechanical third “foot” while its mouth opens and closes, and its bell rings. The robot also has a stop and go lever on the back. Mego Man is marked with the SY (Yoneya) trademark and Made in Japan on its back.
Circa 1956 RATCHET ROBOT - NOMURA - JAPAN
The Nomura wind-up Ratchet Robot measures 7.5" tall and is in very good condition given it’s age. There is a paint nic on one shoulder. Ratchet’s wind-up mechanism works well, but as often happens with robots of this era the rubber wheels have flattened over time which makes him shuffle in place. This version of the Ratchet Robot has the distributer copyright mark on its left inner leg George C. Wagner. It also bears both the (TN) Nomura trademark and the Ishizuka trademark. Ratchet also is marked Japan.
1965 Marx Mechanical Chompy the Beetle Space Insect Robot
Chompy the Beetle is 6” tall, and is all tin except for his vinyl antennae, plastic eye bubbles and three rubber wheels. When wound he rolls forward with arms swinging loosely at his sides while his mouth opens and closes as he produces a bug-like clicking sound.
Lithographed on Chompy’s back are the Marx logo and “Louis Marx & Co., Inc. MCMLXV (1965), MADE IN JAPAN”. Most often this version of Chompy is found without the lithographed maker's info on the back and instead has the same information embossed on the base. Chompy is in good condition with play wear on the head and some rusting to the chrome around the eyes and on the key. Chompy works like a champ.
1960s vintage The Ohio Art Co. atomic space AstroRay target toy gun flashlight
Made in early the 1960s by The Ohio Art Co. of Bryan, Ohio. This vintage AstroRay space themed large flashlight style signal and dart shooter combo gun features 1950s 1960s atomic space age sci-fi era styled name raised on both sides of the gun in gold metallic lettering.
Flashlight or morse signal works by depressing white full length paddle on back of handle. Flashlight does not light up but may just need a flashlight bulb replacement. This is the original version without the morse code raised relief on the handle. Supposed to shoot a dart but it is missing from this toy. Toy gun measures 10” long by 8” tall (from handle to top fin). Battery compartment is totally clean. Uses 2 C-cell sized batteries.
1981 <SH> Horikawa tin Rotate-O-Matic 16” SUPER GIANT ROBOT made in Japan MIB
This rare and vintage 1980s Horikawa (SH) Super Giant Robot measures a whopping 16” and is made of printed tin and plastic. The robot's head and arms are plastic with chromed ears and claws. The doors are hollow amber plastic structures. The body, legs, and feet are made of tin.
The robot operates on 3 D-cell batteries. When in motion it walks forward, stops, its chest doors open and flashing guns tilt out. The upper body then rotates while making a "rat-tat-tat" sound. The machine guns then retract as the doors close and the robot continues to walk forward.
The robot is in excellent overall condition. It is marked MADE IN JAPAN on the side and has "Made in Japan" stamped into the battery cover. It comes in its original box with inserts. The box has both Japanese and English writing on it. See movie below of this actual robot in action.
Circa 1967 E.O. friction Ranger Robot made in Japan The robot is affectionately referred to by some as the McDonald's robot due to the arched M painted on his chest. This friction powered robot is made of vinyl plastic with tin components and measures 4.75" in height. It comes complete with it's spring wire antenna and original box. The head on the robot can be turned and it works with a paddle foot action. The head on the robot can be moved right or left. The Ranger robot is based on the 1960s Japanese print and TV cartoon character Borot who was featured with his elementary school aged friend Dameo. The TV series first ran from 1966-1967 with a new series adaptation from 1991-1992. For reference, here's a link to the cartoon if you wish to view it: http://youtu.be/JHwYGLoh4E0
Original 1960s Yoshiya Planet Robot w/ rubber hands and sparking action Japanese early version Yoshiya Action Planet Robot key wound motor sparky with rubber hands This is an authentic early version Yoshiya Action Planet Robot aka "Robby the Robot", with rubber hands. It has the rarer tin head and body. This Action Planet Robot is 8 inches tall and has a forward walking motion when wound and the on/off switch is set to the down position. His head has a very dark green tinted plastic window and his mouth and chest has red plastic windows.
1977 AHI original Lost in Space B9 robot. I had this when I was 9 years old. I remember seeing it in Alexander's dept store and I had to have it. I also remember at the time how cheap it seemed and its likeness wasn't very consistent with the real robot.
