In Phyrria, food delivery usually takes place in large towns like Possibility, where they live not under one queen and multiple tribes can work under the same sky. This is largely because dragons there can actually make a living doing food delivery due to an actual demand for their services. In other kingdoms, jobs are more specialized and centered around the tribe itself. Many kingdoms are also composed of many small settlements extremely far apart, with large swathes of hunting ground between them. The Kingdom of Mud, for example, holds many deep swamps, which surround the palace and the town that sprawls beneath it. In these swamps, other settlements will grow on large islands and around rivers. Most of these settlements specialize in catching food within these swamps and experimenting with them. A uniquely prosperous kingdom, the Mud Kingdom exports a large variety of meats and sources recipes sought after by other kingdoms for special events. In other tribes, however, dragons are far more solitary than the MudWings. To the West of the Mud Kingdom, the desert of the Sand Kingdom sprawl out for miles. Here, a dragon only has three options; Live in the palace, where they can find work as a soldier or a servant, live in the Scorpion Den amongst assassins and merchants, or live a solitary life out in the desert, hunting for yourself and finding pleasures in the simplest of things. Other kingdoms have different circumstances, of course. In the Night Kingdom, closeness between tribe members became required for survival on the volcano. In the Sky and Sea kingdoms, the majority of dragons work and live in or around the palace(s), where large markets and events are held. The Ice Kingdom and the RainWing Village may be unique, however, due to their tribal structures and habitats. For the IceWings, there are very few settlements available, and almost no IceWing would have chosen to leave the kingdom prior to the destruction of The Gift of Order. Royalty and nobility were located within the palace, where their worth was based purely upon that decided by other dragons. Servants and peasants were rarely acknowledged by anybody outside of their own villages, including the queen and her court. But in towns like Possibility and Sanctuary, none of these are issues. Dragons mingle freely, and royal hierarchy is lost entirely. Many dragons work in the field they choose, and not the field that their tribe specializes in. SkyWings may find themselves selling plants, while NightWings and SandWings work together on intricate glasswork. All of this rambling begs the question, however; Gabe, how does any of this tie into your original point of food delivery? For one, these dragons have less demanding jobs, though they are also more consistent. In Possibility, a SkyWing mother can have a consistent schedule and be aware of when she will be working and for how long. If this same dragon was in the Sky Kingdom, however, she could be drafted to war at any time or given a new position whenever her queen decided. With this organized schedule, however, she can keep track of busy days and know when she needs to get an easy dinner. In the kingdoms, this wouldn’t be such an issue, as most dragons work in the home or catch dinner on their way to and from work. But for those in organized towns like Possibility, prey is scarce and most dragons don’t have the time to go hunt in the desert. Even when they do have time, success for dragons who aren’t SandWings is rare, as they aren’t always familiar with desert conditions. For this problem, however, there is a solution! Dragons in these towns can order pre-cooked food delivery straight to their doors, almost identical to that of today’s modern pizza delivery, only with a bit more scheduling. If a dragon knows they’re going to be working late one day, they can schedule delivery at a restaurant as late as a day in advance! This ensures a hot dinner without hassle, hence why they don’t just pick it up when scheduling, and allows more time for work and rest. This got too long oops part 2 in a minute
