I don't want to be rude, but I find that when you post pictures of your new expensive stuff it just looks arrogant. Almost like 'look what I have that you can't afford'. I'm a struggling college student and seeing your posts just make me sad. Good for you for finding financial stability but in this econony and age we live in, most of us are lucky if we get a minimum wage job, no matter how hard we work. I don't want to try to tell you what to do but flaunting your wealth hurts others.. :( Sorry
“Cont. I know it's your blog and you probably will think that I'm just a troll but I was following you for a long time. I think you're funny but it looks like money may have changed you a bit. I don't know you personally but I feel like you're going to answer this in a really angry way. I work my butt off and put in hours and hours of work (I live in Nova Scotia) and I barelt make enough to pay rent. If you're going to keep posting brag pictures, I might have to unfollow, even though I like you.“Hi, Anon. I read both of your asks, and I’m going to answer this to my best ability. Not in an angry way, As me yelling, and saying unkind things towards someone who’s upset is not going to be productive.Growing up, I always found there being an annoying double standard when it comes to how others react to people getting excited over things. This goes especially with things that are expensive, Whether that’s a handbag, car, phone, or any gadget. People are more inclined to feel bitter towards those who show, or get excited towards things of high value, rather than things that are within their affordable range. I am quite sure when a blog that you follow takes a pic of a new dress, or their new.. whatever; You’re probably not one to type up a storm saying that it makes you sad. These are things I get excited about. I got a new phone after two years, a Galaxy S7, and I really wanted to show other people. My caption underneath the picture was literally “Yay” so I can’t quite wrap my head around why you’re getting sad over pictures of my material possessions. If you had a friend who just recently purchased a brand new brand-name handbag; would you tell her that walking around with it makes you sad? Would you tell her that you would have to stop being her friend if she keeps taking that handbag around whenever you hang out with her? What you’re perceiving as arrogant, or flaunting is just so trivial that I’m slightly baffled that you went as far as to message me this. I’m not going to deny that Money does change people in more ways than one. I didn’t grow up from money. I didn’t always have these “Nice things.” My parents were both immigrants to Canada from different countries, and had little to nothing but the clothes on their back, and a little bit of faith. Growing up in Vancouver, Which is now one of the Most expensive cities to live in the world; wasn’t easy as my Mum, and Dad’s wages couldn’t adjust to the ever-growing living costs in this city. There were times where they lived from paycheck to paycheck. They worked their asses off with hopes that I would never have to go hungry in my youth. But there was one value that they taught me that stuck with me; It was not to shun those even with material wealth. They never complained, nor got mad over those who had more than us. All they ever seen it as, was motivation to work harder. And it rubbed off on me. I never got mad, or bitter whenever I saw someone with “more” than me. I always ended up questioning myself with “How can I get that too?.” Fast forward to now, and I’ve retired both of my parents. They’re being taken care of, their health is great, I’ve taken them on vacations, and gave them the life they dreamed of when they were overseas with nothing. I’ve busted my chops, and went through hell and back to get to where I am, and I take pride into my success, as there were a ton of people out there (And there still are) who do everything they can to try to bring me down. I love to show off my Mother, and show her experiences in life that she could only dream about, because without her, I wouldn’t be here. I’m sorry that you’re perceiving these pics of things I show to my followers as “arrogant” but I cannot change, nor guarantee that everyone will feel the same way about the things I post. I have no control over that. And I get it, you’re struggling, and having a hard time to get by in your financial position + education where you are. But to go as far as to send me messages saying that you’re sad because you see me as some arrogant, flaunting jerk is just so pointless. My “wealth” is going to hurt people whether I like it or not. My body, and health is going to hurt people whether I like it or not. My Happiness is going to hurt people whether I like it or not. And these are the things that I have come to accept. And with that, I’m sorry but; I genuinely do not care whether it makes you upset or not. And personally, I know this is going to come off as really rude, but; If you’re getting upset over something this trivial; Grow up. I really can’t find another way to word that. I’m honored, and grateful that you find me funny, and that you like me (Though, probably you don’t anymore): But this is how it is. I’m not going to change my blog, or posts because it has upset someone. This blog is used as a means to express myself. I’m not here with some obligation to cater to exo fans, or followers. I owe them nothing. If you want to unfollow, by all means; I’m okay with that. And I promise you I won’t be upset, or find any hard feelings into it. It’s either you accept me, or you don’t. And no matter the choice; It really doesn’t matter. I just hope you have a good day. I really hope you’ll be able to find some great people in college, and surround yourself with people of good character. And I also hope your situation financially improves too. I really do.
