Art Basel Miami Beach Day 2: Previewing Miami Project

With approximately 20 fairs taking place simultaneously in Miami and Miami Beach, Miami Art Week is a feast for the senses. While Art Basel remains the preeminent fair and features more than 200 galleries from across the globe, a myriad of pendant fairs dot the scene, from tents oceanside to downtown Miami.

Miami Project (sister fair to Texas Contemporary) returns to Miami Art Week in its third iteration, presenting an intimate environment for viewing. Miami Project focusses on museum-quality work, presenting a selection of historically important and cutting-edge contemporary work side by side. WAG previewed Miami Project on Tuesday, below are our highlights from the more than 60 US galleries exhibiting.

Art Basel Miami Beach Day 1: Previewing Untitled. Fair

This week, WAG is on the road, visiting sunny Miami Beach and soaking in the art and atmosphere at Art Basel Miami Beach. One of three annual Art Basel shows, Art Basel Miami Beach brings together gallerists, artists, collectors and public institutions in celebration of modern and contemporary artists across North America, Latin America, Europe, Asia, and Africa. Paintings, sculptures, drawings, installations, photographs, films, and editioned works of the highest quality are accessible at Art Basel Miami Beach, while ambitious artworks, performances and companion art and design fairs become part of the landscape at neighboring and nearby locations across the Beach.

On our first day in Miami Beach, WAG previewed Untitled. fair, a curated fair comprised of international galleries and nonprofit art spaces, all dedicated to mid-career and emerging contemporary artists.
