instead of doing any of the many numerous things i should be doing i've spent a fair few hours today and yesterday rereading all the dear dumb diary books in my house and honest to god i think reality shifting is real and jim benton is just the only person doing it. because i can't understand how else a grown man would get possessed by a middle school girl who is very clearly gay but doesn't know she's gay and nobody around her knows she's gay but it's really painfully obvious

I wish the trivia brought up for books actually stayed revelant. There’s only a few things that ever consistently change throughout the series, like stinker’s puppies and the meatloaf going away. I rant a lot abt how so many cool things get introduced for the characters and then are NEVER brought up again in future books, for example Hudson being a rich kid, Angeline’s soccer talent / Italian / ability to play guitar, COLETTES WHOLE EXISTENCE. Poor emmily gets moved completely …💔

I know it’s a silly episodic-esque children’s book but my god the missed potential.. that’s why we have fics
